air quantity vs desired air quantity....

right this code is starting to really ****** me off now!

need some help!

as ive mentioned before in pretty much every thread, im battling with p1237 'air quantity'

the car has had an angel EGR delete map, egr is off but i dont think the desired parameters have been changed.

desired on my car is 1200
actual at tickover is between 520 and 530.

it peaks at 1223 at WOT.

every else it fluctuates lower as per driving.

i have been in touch with nigel who is being helpful, but i need to know if its the actual map or a faulty part on my car. i have recently cleaned the MAP as it was covered in gunk to no avail. and i dont really want to be spending £50 on a new one to find out its not the problem.

so do i have a faulty map or do the desired parameters need to be changed when performing a EGR delete map?

i have the graph but not sure how to get it up on here.

any help would be most grateful and im not after any 'my tuners better than yours' i just want a definative answer.

faulty sensors usually respond slower to changes in air mass.. try to log boost and airmass together, see if the boost rises before the airmass does...

does the MAP measure the boost then?

would my symptoms point towards a dicky MAP sensor?

The reason they are so different is that they are actually measured in different units (fes has a bug in that it displays the same units) if you search I posted what the actual units should be ... I'm on my phone so can't find it at the mo

Yours is one of the newer 4 cylinders (looking at your member car), but I presume that it is equally applicable
