147 JTDm 16v 2006 injector corr. values

Hello,

Yesterday I drove for a testride for logging some parameters.

Its the 150bhp, squadra tuned to 170bhp (with EGR hardware and software cut/disabled) .

The consumption is 15km @ 1litre, I must do pretty much my best to reach that.
I heard that 18km/litre must be pretty easy to reach.

Maybe the injectors are wearing out or dirty ?

Anyone can tell some usefull stuff about the logs ?

Is it a JTDm 16v or a JTD Multijet 16v ?

Well, it is hard to judge from consumption if you car has some kind of injection problems.
Yes consumption of 18km/l (or ~5.5l/100km) is reachable with that car, but you must behave yourself and you must avoid city traffic

I usually do between 16 and 17km/l. But if you do a lot of city driving, or high speed motorway driving (over 130kph) then it is normal to have higher consumption.

About correction factors, if your car is JTDm, then the values should be below 0.4mm3/inj. On older cars the limit was 0.9mm3/inj. But from my experience, most cars run above that values without any problems.
If you dont see any smoke at high revs, or if your car idles without too much vibration, then everything is probably OK, if not, then you should get the injectors tested on the flow bench at local Bosch Diesel service center. And cleaned if necessary. If you clean them, then they must be tested again on the flow bench, and you get new correction codes for each injector. Those codes must be programmed to ECU by Fiat Examiner at your local Alfa dealership...

Thanks TribesMan !

As I said, I must do pretty much my best to reach usually 15km/l (100km p/day home-work-home with some highway and some 80km roads and a little city traffic).

below 0.4mm3/inj does that mean -0.94mm3/inj is good ?

Some smoke becomes visable at full throttle AND higher than 4000rpm....

Car idles nicely.....

Well if you drive mostly long distances this consumption is a bit high.

Below 0.4 means everything between -0.4 and +0.4 is OK, -0.9 is not OK if you follow alfas recommendations, but as I said I've seen many cars with corrections even as high as 1.5 but car run fine without any smoke and idled perfectly smooth.

Smoke above 4000 could be a sign of bad spray pattern. But there is no other way than testing the injectors on the flow bench...
