ticking noise (posted on gta forum)

I have a 3.2 gtv which has developed a ticking noise which seems to be getting worse and has happened over the last 4 days and sounds to be coming from the rear bank but more from the front of the enine rather than the heads
Its louder when cold and at first i thought it was coming from around the auxillry belt area but now im not so sure
Ive had the car 7 weeks and it came with a 12 month Rac warranty
the milage was 56300 when i got the car and ive done 2600 milles in it in two months but ive top the oil up once and check it regulary as i do the water and never drive above 2500 rpm till the engine is warm
Sureley it cant be the tappets already and are they hydraulic and if so could one be sticking
i drove the car home this evening and opened it up a little the engine felt as smooth as its been since the day i got it

Also how do warranties work
thought id post on here as its basically the same engine as the gta and you guys know them as well as anyone
any thoughts

thanks in advance
