Re: How many miles to a full tank??
Mine seems to be getting better, I've done 350 miles and it's nowhere near empty.

Not true. Modern Diesels are self priming and go not need to be bleed through. It may turn over for about 30 seconds before starting though

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
I get 580 miles between fills, which are generally about 60 litres, so that gives me about 44mpg at the moment... very happy with that indeed

Correct. The lift pump is actually an in-tank suction pump. Any leaks in the system and it draws air in, not leaks fuel out. Better have a good battery though
BTW, last tank in 156 2.0 was 470 miles from 62 litres which is 34.4mpg. Incidentally, this is only 0.4mpg better than an identical run, of over 600 miles in my 1990 75TS which has loads of mods inclucing hot cams
The 156 usually produces 350-450 miles per tank.
Funnily enough, I also remember having a Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDi as a hire car some years ago and it only averaged 10mpg better than the 75TS. I think the main problem was it was just too slow and needed to be gunned everywhere to maintain the sort of progress I'm accustomed to

Done my CBT and theory test. Awaiting practical big bike test now.
Just gone and got a 750GSX- I'd better pass.

29mpg isn't too bad, what was your cruising speed?
At 70-80mph I get 30mpg from my 3.0. That revs higher in 6th than your GT, so I'd imagine that should do 31 or 32mpg at the same sort of speed. Which is awesome for the performance of the car.

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
Had my car remapped a couple of weeks ago, and I now get pretty much the same amount of miles out of a tank (about 550) as I did previously ... although now the computer reckons I am doing about 48mpg ... which is clearly wrong!!!

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
The way prices are going it's best to fill up as much as possible ... you know that if you leave it a day the prices will have gone up again

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
Exactly, why put in a tenner this week and a tenner next week, as next week you'll get less for your tenner than you would have done if you'd spent it this week
Unless someone nicks your fuel, you'll be saving money.

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
850 miles maximum, 660 average, 550 minimum
147 JTD
I find it hard to do less than 40mpg after the engine is warm.

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
I just got 415 miles from a tank last weekend. Considering the 2.0 156 was sitting at 80-90mph most of the time with the rev counter averaging around 4000rpm and very little slower A road work, I'm very happy with 32mpg average.
