There's no way you'd get 400 mile out of a full tank in a V6
I'm gonna get about 600 out of my first full tank
and that's 95% motorway and giving it some beans

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
400 miles on 60 litres is pretty much bang on 30mpg. I've ticked it over once past the 400 miles mark, and it was on the fuel light, I normally fill up around the 3/4 mark but I've seen 30mpg average 3 or 4 times now on motorway runs provided I try and keep it around 70/80..
HM - 600 miles on 60 litres is about 45mpg, which is much better than I got in my remapped 2.4!
GD - You don't do much long distance driving though do you? Lots of short runs destroys any fuel economy. dxechick gets 40mpg out of his 1.6 on decent runs.

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
Pud never ever got more than 350 out of a Brim full tank in the Cup
But I had a very heavy foot in the Cup loved every minute
The GT will only need filling once a week at this rate

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
You have to be gentle with it to get 30mpg, no foot to the floor stuff.. But its not so bad, it still surprises me when I put my foot down after going gentle on it for a while. I've got 190 miles on the clock now, only 50 miles of which have been motorway, and the needle is showing bang on 1/2, which means I have 20 litres left
But I should see close to 300 miles on this tank, which'll be about 55 litre to refil, giving me thereabouts 25mpg.. Not exactly frugal but not the end of the world either

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
I have just filled up today, 426 miles used 56 litres from a 2.0 petrol lusso. 20 miles town and 60 miles motorway per day. Works out @34.4 mpg and thats doing 70 - 75 mph on motorway.
Trip computer reckoned 38 mpg average though!

Just a smidgeon over 520 miles per tank in the 159 - works out at ~38 mpg

Thats good for a 2.4.. 200 or 210 engine? I bet its the 210, they seem to be returning a lot better mpg.

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
Typically:
500 (800km) 90% motorway, 10% city - typical speeds on a highway 90mph
And my best result when checking range. Kept reasonable speed, for me it was 75mph, did't want to go slower:
610 (almost 1000km) 90% motorway, 10% city

Very frugal (not fun) driving, didn't repeat it this morning, only for 68.3mpg out of her. But, at that rate my fuel tank can last me 5 weeks!

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
These trip readouts arent accurate and generally over read by about 12%, but thats still an impressive figure. I should be able to at least match it (same engine, lighter car). Is yours remapped or chipped?-Maybe thats why I cant get anywhere near that. Although remapping/chipping is supposed to improve mpg by bout 4%...

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
My 156 is just the standard 1.9JTD, no modifications. Standard air filer, turbo, exhaust, everything is as “factory standard.”
But, even if the readout is 12% out then that still gives me 63.7mpg...
I find the read-out on my car is very accurate now.
Before it was telling me I was doing 52mpg (on average,) but, I had worked out I was getting only about 44mpg. This was due to the air filter having taken 14k miles of flack and not been changed.
She is just about to pass 400 miles and I have over 1/4 a tank left, so should see a good 650 miles out of her this tank, that’s about 50mpg.

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
I see, I drive pretty frugaly most of the time (when I m working-get paid per mile) and I coast whenever I can (provided I m NOT slowing anyone down behind). Ave mpg went up from 48 to 57-60 after I fitted the chip. Thought I was doing well! Changing the air filter soon, needs an oil change as well, maybe that will make a difference. I should do a poper brim to brim measurement to check accuracy of trip comp'.

Re: How many miles to a full tank??
No, not at all, quite the opposite-What makes you think that?-The engine is idling when it would normally in gear and revving, so saving fuel. Its surprising how much speed you can maintain without using it (the engine) or on short bursts of "throttle" in traffic. No on | |
