Re: Has anybody got a review for Sherburn alfa spares

Don't bother mate. My engine came from there, previous owner got it installed, when it was put into the car it was leaking oil, which saturated the timing belt, necessitating a full belt change, and replacing the leaky gaskets. Sherburn's contribution to this was to send a new gasket

While the engine was out, they replaced his brand new battery with a dodgy old one that let him down, lost his locking wheel nuts, failed to tighten up a wheel fully, which fooked the hub, and a few more things which I can't really remember. I have it all wrote down on the service history which I have at home. Anyway, the guy who owned the car at the time, his username on here is 'bacon', drop him a PM and he'll tell you all about it

Back on the road: Alfa 156 3.0 24v V6, Silver with red leather, Q2 diff, 17" GTA Teledials, headlights & inlet manifold, AutoDelta carbon intake,
SuperSprint exhaust, Dastek Unichip & FK coilovers - my 245bhp beast!

Gone but not forgotten: Alfa 156 2.4 JTD Veloce, Vela Blu, Angel 'mad map' & BMC CDA, Ferodo DS2500s - the fastest tractor in town!

Got an engine from Sherburn for my 156, was delivered quickly but was from a 166 instead of a 156 so lots of stuff had to be swapped over including the flywheel.

However they did change the cambelt, idlers, tensioner and waterpump for just over cost price of the parts which was good.

Was it a rebuilt engine or just taken out of a crashed car and delivered?

As a breaker I wouldn't have any hesitation buying from them, but I wouldn't let them work on my car, or rebuild an engine I was going to put in it..

It was taken out of a car and sent down, but they had done the belts pump and idlers properly.

ordered a couple of bit from them that disappeared in the post. I got a refund eventually but it took an age.
