servicing round Derby?
Bought the car (159 2.4) couple of months ago when it had an oil and filter change but no reset so Oil Change Required warning has come up now at 29000 miles.
I've seen someone recommend Alfatechnico for servicing and their site does look interesting. Anyone any other ideas for both simple Oil change and ECU reset and/or costs for places close to Derby? I am keen to guarantee peace of mind with fresh oil in the sump so am happy to have another change so soon as the oil is jet black, but I expect that from a diesel!
All ideas of places welcome. Thanks.

Hay there
Around derby im not too sure. Alfa are a rare breed and to mess with the ECU you only want the best for that piece of mind. AlfaTechnico are garrenteed and are only in Huthwaite so not that far away really. They use origanal parts which alot dont and from what ive heard they dont rip you off and have good customer service

I had a 159 2.4 Lusso like yours for 2 years (up to last year, did 80k miles in it), I had it serviced at Beecdale in Derby as I bought the car there and its conveinient for me.
I know they are the main dealer and they have set prices for servicing but they always did a good job for me, courtesy cars provided no hidden extras etc.
I have recently bought some spares for my Spider from their parts dept and they were half the price of the internet sellers!!

Beechdale aren't bad but I had to tell them TWICE that the thermostat on mine was shot before they changed it while the car was stil under warranty. And it took them three attempts to discover that the downpipe hadn't been refitted properly after an oil change (admittedly not by them but even so....) causing exhaust fumes to come into the cabin.
Peak Alfa have long been my choice for issues I don't want to or can't sort myself. But I've heard nothing but good things about Alfa Technico and the other place in the Mansfield area that I can never remember the name of!

Think that's where my mate's had his 147's body computer done. It failed AGAIN but they're sorting it no quibble under the warranty they gave on the part.

so what does AFH mean then?
My servicing only costs me parts....and skin....and the occasional few cc of blood.

Ah, right - actually Beechdale are also Hyundia and I have a quick story on that - shortly after they had taken on the franchise.
In December 2009 my partners Sante Fe Diesel suddenly started to run poorly, after I changed the feul filter (thinking the symptoms were due to a blocked filter) we took it to an indie who couldnt diagnose the problem after having it for a day (and charging £80 for the priveledge) but theorised it was an issue with the injector spray patterns.
I sent my partner off to Beecdale the following day who diagnosed it correctly immediately - the cam belt had slipped and caused some damage (as you'd expect), they couldnt believe she had driven it there - they sorted it out quickly within about 3 days (a lot of new parts were needed) all under the 3 year warranty which only had 5 days left to run!! No questions no paperwork just returned the car fixed.
They didnt sell the car to her and hadnt ever serviced it before, when you get good service like that you cant knock it really.
