Need help to diagnose my sluggish gtv
Hi to everyone,
I was wondering if it would be possible to meet up with some fellow GTV 2.0TS owners in the near future to get their feedback on my s**t car (sorry but i am losing patience with it now and the total spent on the damn thing is more than what i've paid for it a year ago).
I was hoping to compare it with someone elses just to see if it is the car acting up or just me being picky, thinking it should perform better than it is at the moment.
I live in sutton in ashfield, nottinghamshire and i dont mind travelling wherever.
Please help.
Thanks.

Hi lewi,
Anything would help as I'm at my wits end. Do you fancy meeting up and comparing notes?

Perhaps we could have a mini gtv/spider meet if other people are interested.
Would be good to meet up with some local owners.

If it's got 60k ish miles on the clock then it could be the airflow meter. Mine had a power drop between 3k and 4k revs for ages and couldn't work it out until the airflow meter was replaced for about £200 including work. If low poer at low revs, then try an engine remap for about the same money

just a quick question about your car. is there any play in th accelerator pedal, as in can you press it a little bit before it feels like i's actually pulling on the cable, like there's a bit of slack in it so to speak, because when i first got mine it felt alittle sluggish because someon had moved the adjuster on the accelerator cable and loosed it off a bit (possibly to try and get slightly better fuel economy) so you could never actually get full throttle, i moved it back and hey presto, instant performance.

No Danny, but think it's the inlet manifold. Would still like to meet up and have a look at yours to compare the working of the manifold if it's possible.

ok mine started playing up not so long ago, took it into Lewis at Alfa Tecnico and it turns out my Lambda sensor was on the fritz, so he's put me a new one in, (little pricey but it works) there are cheap ones available off ebay but chances are they're gonna cause more problems than they fix, anyways, had that replaced and my GTV's now reborn, much improved throttle response, much smoother, and it's got it's kick back, so might be worth just getting it plugged into the diagnostics and seeing if there's any errors being thrown up by the O2 sensor
