Re: mitcar show this sunday

I hadn't realised this event was on and just turned up at the house as an excuse to take 'cuda out since her latest fettling as it was not too far from me. Imagine my embarrassment to find a field full of Italian cars and me in my yank tank . We scuttled off into a corner and lurked around avoiding the withering gazes

Nice turn out, weather improved in the afternoon and the falconry display was great. I must pay more attention to the events sections.

I wondered why the 'cuda was there. Nice machine (second generation 'Cudas always had very European - dare I say Italian - styling) - straight six, or 273? Did I see your Fish at Brooklands earlier in the year?

I used to have a '71 Barracuda, but it rusted so badly I had to sell it. Now undergoing a full restoration (including a new roof, bulkhead, floor etc.), it at least gave me an opportunity to finish the Green Machine, which is why I hang out here

Re: mitcar show this sunday

She's a pretty one alright for a yank tank

She is a UK market 1968 318 V8 (right hand drive from Detroit) only modification done is a twin exhaust system fitted a week ago hence her run out on Sunday. She didn't go to Brooklands but I believe there is a slant 6 one in a similar colour knocking around.

The Nova is sweet saw it at the Auto Italia day and had another good nose on Sunday.

Re: mitcar show this sunday

It was a good day although I found my marshalling a tad tiring

Despite the weather, I think everyone had a great time

Those that ventured into the house and saw the falconry said it was amazing and well worth the additional £2.

Clare & mandy, GTleigh's wife really enjoyed taking everyone's money on the (litteral) gate

Great to say hi to loads of people and thanks to Green Berlina for the Italian cakes

Sorry I didn't get to say hello to you Lauren I marvelled at your wonderful car, as I have done so at a few of the shows

The support from the Fiat Forum, Fiat Motor Club GB, Stilosports Club, Clubcento, Ferrari OC not to mention all the AOers that turned up was excellent

The Nuvo 500 crew (Angel Tuning), Italian Minitures & Motorvogue also supported the event and the catering was nice if you braved the long queue.

It's a not for profit event and a significant amount of the balance left after the costs were covered went to the Myton Hospice which looks after those with terminal cancer.

All in all, in excess of 230 Italian cars came on the day.

Brilliant

Oh goodness I feel all guilty no-one asked for any money now. I think the gate staff where just horrified by my monstrosity. Sad to say didn't get to chat to anyone other than the crowd from Nuevo500 as it was late and the prize giving (I think) was going on. Promise to pay more attention and turn up in an Alfa next time.

Well I went to the Mopar Nats at the Pod in the Green Machine so I guess that makes us even

Yes, it must have been the 225 six pot (South African I think) Barracuda I was thinking of. Nice to see a UK RHD car, there's not many around!

Hi Squad Ross, I had another great day out at MITCAR, well worth the 260 mile round trip in spite of the weather. I didn't do the house or the falconery, but I did have a good wonder around the gardens and very nice they were too!

Plus at the end of the day I sneaked back in the entrance and took a load of photos of the Nova on the gravel drive in front of the house - class!
