Meet Report 24 November
First of all my thanks to everyone who turned up yesterday for our "Meet the experts Day" at Avanti. Even more thanks go to Mario and Paul - the owners and Ashley and Jay, who opened up their workshop to us and gave free advice , ran diagnostics on our cars and even fed us. We also got to meet some AROC members and hope to work together at some events in the future.
An apology - although I took loads of 'photos not a lot came out - however a few are attached. - So what did we do?
We discovered for example that you can have warning lights come on because of oil in a wiring loom - from the variator solenoid - ask Mr Jeff 'cos it's his car that sufffers from this.
Gentari now knows why his 147 rattles on startup (a damaged bracket).
Mario and Paul awarded a prize for "Car of the Day" a free 24k mile service. This was won by 147daytona (Colin) and the 'photos show the detailed work he has done on his 147. Colin is a precision engineer and it shows - the gear stick is hand made including the sliding reverse collar. The extra instrument cluster was cut by Colin - spot the difference between the instrument 'photos - they change colour. Check out the lights - oh and the deisel engine is now 190 bhp.
There was a free prize draw with prizes donated by Ian (alfaowner). This took place after people had left and I can now announce the result.
Third prize - a Medio membership goes to Georgina - an AROC member.
Second prize - A premio membership - goes to TSE (Roy)
First prize - a fleece - Bath77 (David) - could have used this yesterday.
Congratultions all - Ian will be getting in touch with you soon.
Perhaps the best aspect of the day was getting to meet people (even though I didn't quite get around to talking to you all - my apologies for that).
All in all a terrific day - if anyone has any doubts about joining in a regional event - dump them - join in.
Paul.

Re: Meet Report 24 November
Once again thanks to PaulR and all the guys at Avanti for a great day. Also a very big thankyou to whoever did all the food & drinks. I've been to a few weddings that haven't put on such a good spread.
I was amazed at all the interest in my 147 and even more amazed to learn that I had won car of the day. All-in-all well worth the trip and hope to see you all again soon.

Re: Meet Report 24 November
That sounds like a crackin' meet! Just a shame Phylis turned up eh?
I hope Mr. Owner realises all the reps are gonna be bugging him for raffle prizes now.

Which was promptly fixed (for a very reasonable price, thanks to Paul at Avanti) although i might still need to replace the small section of wiring loom. I would have never believed it if i hadn't seen it for myself...oil being pushed through the loom! Thank you to everyone at Avanti for their great hospitality and it was so nice to see an Alfa specialist that obviously knows what their talking about. Well done Paul R for a very good meet .

Re: Meet Report 24 November
A great time I agree - I'm no in N Norfolk for a few days - very limited connectivity even with iPhone so I'll be back with more later this week - once again thanks to all who took part.
