AROC East Anglian Alfa Day

The East Anglian Section of AROC is proud to announce the first East Anglian Alfa Day.

The event on the 31st May will take place at Oxburgh Hall in Norfolk from 10AM to 4PM and will feature a large display of Alfa Romeos in a dedicated parking area, a concourse and access to the grounds and house for a special discounted rate.

The concourse is an open invitation event to all club members and the event is supported by two of our local specialist garages (Alfashop of Norwich and Avanti Auto’s of Ipswich).

Oxburgh Hall is located 7 miles south west of Swaffam on the A134, the location is about an hours drive from Cambridge, Peterborough and Norwich and about an hour and a half from Ipswich.

The house is a 15th century moated manor house which has many interesting features
including secret doors and rooms which make this a house of mystery and history. Step back in time through the magnificent Tudor gatehouse into the dangerous world of Tudor politics. Home to the Bedingfeld family since 1482, this stunning red-brick house charts their history from medieval austerity to neo-Gothic Victorian comfort.

As well as early Mortlake tapestries in the Queen's Room, Oxburgh houses beautiful embroidered hangings by Mary, Queen of Scots, and Bess of Hardwick. Panoramic views from the roof look out over the Victorian French parterre, walled orchard, kitchen garden and a Catholic chapel. There are quizzes, trails and dressing-up clothes to try on, and charming woodland walks.

The house also has a well appointed dining area and snacks etc will be available from the small café located next to the car park.

Entry to the event will be £1 for adults and children will be free, this will be donated to the house and will buy you a discounted entry to the house and gardens priced at £6.35 for adults and £2.25 for children.

To enter the concourse and for further information please e-mail Eaday@alfa44.freeserve.co.uk or Telephone 07730 581 363 for your entry form.

Has Psycho pulled out? (no innuendo intended). I'm guessing there will probably a mini convoy meeting at Tesco Copdock to go up together, bound to be at least 4 of us I would reckon doing this so thats probably your best bet if coming from Hadleigh. At least then you can meet a few of us for a chinwag beforehand.

For the rest of the Ipswich (and surrounds) peeps should we tell her that newbies have to bring bacon sarnies or something?
