Apart from the Grand Prix, Liz and I are not great followers of motorsport. A few years ago our son recommended Rockingham Raceway - we went along. Then they had "Days of Thunder" which included pickuptruck racing around the oval track. Things have changed but on 13 July there is another great day out- BRSCC including the pickups - if you haven't seen this it really is something to see them 1/2" apart at 160 mph.

It really is a good day - cheap to get in. Family friendly - lots of stuff for kids to do. There are events between races (they make sure that there is never a dull moment) - two years ago there was even a Spitfire flying display between races. You can walk around the whole site, visit the pits and sit wherever you want in the Grandstands. The full details are not available yet but the link is:-

This is a good opportunity for us all to get together for a really good day out - RSVP and I will arrange parking and, if there are enough of us, negotiate a lower rate.

My car has decided it doesn't want to play in 4th gear anymore so I've had to go for a "maybe" again depending on if I can sort it out myself in the next couple of days. Otherwise it will be back to the garage hopefully under warranty - as much as that is going to be a right pain in the summat.

Had a (astonishingly slow paced and frustrating) play last night and seem to have got it back - for now. Going to have a crack at changing the gearbox oil tomorrow eve and then the test run is Silverstone on Friday! If that works out with no drama I may just see you all at Rockingham
