This isn't the crazy one with the 3.0 twin turbo engine is it? The rear arches don't look wide enough.

I voted uncool. I'm sure its a fantastic car, but its not a looker is it? And that interior, oh dear. Looks like they robbed it off Audi. I am a fan of BMW but the 1M is not a cool BMW. This is a cool BMW:

Looks too tall to look wide, if you get me. I suppose modern safety standards are to blame.

I think they could have done better with the styling, it is too narrow and more than a bit ugly.
However as Gaz says, it is an M car which means it will be well engineered and a great drive.
You can't see the outside once you are sat in it.

Cool , because it's an M car and, if I remember right, a very limited run hence it's rarity. If it becomes as common as the M3, then uncool, just like any other common BMW

Uncool IMO, because people will think you've done what every other BMW driver does these days and put M badges all over their 120 diesel's.
A hoot to drive no doubt, but not for me, doesn't look special enough to make me pay attention.
Now an E24 6 Series is more my cup of tea, beautiful looking machine

As a mark of just how seriously rapid this car is, i was driving up the A9 in scotland last october doing xxx mph, i saw one of these behind me (i thought it was just a standard 1 series to be honest, and it was white). Put my foot down and it stayed with me glued to my bumper. I pulled into the nearside lane, still accelerating and this thing shot past me like i was going in reverse
Seriously ****ing rapid motor

Cool, but only just and entirely based on its limited numbers and bonkersness (is that a real word? If not, it should be).

Its a BMW and this an Alfa forum. Enough said!
I would rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW!

M Badges and big engine aside, it still looks like Noddy's car. In fact I think the big arches just enhance the effect. Uncool.

What he said.
Really cool car that . Especially the Roberto Ravaglia version, or maybe the Bastos rally car but I'd have any E30 M3 in my fantasy garage, thanks.
