McLaren MP4-12C
The new McLaren sports car. Is it cool?
BTW, this is the 200th poll of AO's Cool Wall. Now that is cool!

It's too conservative to be more than cool for me.

Having seen one in the flesh at Goodwood, it's definitely sub-zero... I'd say it's because it's beautifully engineered, but not too in-your-face. KS-T would love it too I'm sure
The guy next me made a comment about it being worth mortgage his house, wife and kids for... A female next to him agreed... And that was his wife!

Got to be sub zero for me , it's all in the design the total package from start to finish that give the drive (not that I know except on ps3 lol) and the asthetic's , 99% of which are probably doing a part in the car's perfomance .To me a totaly fastidious attempt at the possibility's of engineering . Nee .

Seriously uncool for me. There are only two brands of supercars that are cool. Lamborghini because they are just mad and Aston Martin because, well they are just so damn cool.
The McLaren sounds a bit clinical to me, so it might just get into uncool

Nee makes a sort-of point there, i have driven one on GT5 and if that game is as realistic as people say (ie those that have the opportunity to compare the real world with the virtual one) then this car isnt much fun and very tricky
Still dont know whether its cool or uncool though

Uncool - it would need to get good reviews to make up for its rather anonymous styling and its badge, but instead it seems to lose every supercar comparison and the reviewers don't like it much. =|

Seen one sitting in traffic in Edinburgh yesterday and it did not look cool. Looked like cheap plastic toy!
Always though it would be cool when seeing it on the telly but with my own eyes it's very dull. A Lotus Evora is miles better looking.
Would still love to have one as this car is all about the engineering, and i love that, but it doesn't make it cool :-(

The engineering is pretty amazing. I like the look of the Evora but having seen both in the flesh at Goodwood I'm surprised you think that about the McLaren (not saying you should like it) unless they changed it from the prototype/launch machine that they were driving around.
I think the Evora and the MP4-12C are both pretty cool.

It looks the same as what it did on the pictures of the protoype that I seen posted round the net so it's not that they've changed it. The rear end is hideous and that's the only part of the car that actually draws your eye.
To put into perspective on the same walk to the sandwich shop and back on that lunchtime I seen the mclaren and a classic lowered vw dropside pickup. It was a no contest which was the cool machine, the mclaren wouldn't have stood you any chance of getting laid up against the vw , and the vw wasn't in exactly concourse condition.
