It's cool, definately.

But it's certainly not as cool as the ultimate original GT40, which just might be the coolest car in the world, ever.

*edit* except for the Porsche 917, of course

As a small boy the GT40 came second only to the 917, but since I read that Noel Edmunds like to drive his naked cool and GT40 can never be used together

If the GT40 race car is cool I don't see why a more powerful civilised version for the road can't be sub zero.
The doors on the GT40 were designed to allow easier acess for the drivers at Le Mans and on the GT they are just as useful for the big fat blokes that can afford to buy them.

The Ford GT is sub zero, no doubt about it

The original was sub zero but I still think this is just about cool.

It doesn't matter that it's pointless.

Supercars are pointless. That's kind of the point of them.

If that makes sense.

yeah but if it's just a copy of a classic then what's the point - instead why not try and design something new and wonderful? or new and awful? at least it's new

mind - most supercars are hopelessly derivative

But the GT was new. The only thing it shared with the race car was the basic styling. Race cars on the road are never practical. Ok, they have good performance but that's where any pleasure ends. Heating, ventilation, noise, tempermental race engine, howling gearbox and ride on poor road surfaces would soon spoil the dream drive of an original GT40 I reckon.

But it hasn't.

It's not an exact copy either. Your kit car jibe is not unreasonable but I don't subscribe to it in this instance.

I wouldn't want one personally either but I still think it is just about cool.

I actually think the Hawk replica of the Stratos is pretty cool if well-assembled using the Alfa V6 so I'm not totally against the idea of a copy being cool.

It's not remotely cool if you ask me. However, on the basis that I don't think any supercars are cool so it's probably the one I'd buy.
