Mazda 3 MPS
Coming at you with 256 horses and a maniacal grin, this fast Mazda hot hatch is earning a spot in the realm of smaller performance cars. It's fast, agile and stylish. But is it cool? Zoom-Zoom!

I prefer the Saloon '3.
It's not as cool as other Mazdas.

Nope. Like a lot of Japanese stuff it's technically very good, but just not cool.

Sold my old 156 to my son, bought a Mazda 3 instead. Had it exactly 3 weeks before trading in for a 159...
Will i never learn.

Great car, but it will never be cool.

Neither truly cool, nor truly uncool. But I've sided with uncool, simply because i couldn't bring myself to call it cool.
The hot-hatch thing has passed me by, and though i lived through it, and had one of my own, i no longer see the appeal. (although the 1980's classics still appeal to me)

i think it looks good in white in particular
i drove one yesterday (not the powerful version) and it handles well and is very focus-like
far, far better than anything being knocked out currently by VW, Peugeot, Vauxhall, Citroen - if a Giulietta proves a better drive then it'll be a very fine car indeed

Hot hatches are perhaps a bit 'marmite' - there may be a lot of great ones around, but it's not even close to something to that appeals to me.
I said uncool, the boy racer connotations are just too much for me.

Probably a great car but it's not cool. It's just fast consumer goods.
On an unrelated note, it's typically Mazda in that the basic shape is not unattractive but it is totally ruined because THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHEN TO PUT THE ****ING CRAYONS DOWN IN THE DESIGN DEPARTMENT.
As I've come to expect from the company, the grille is hideous and should just be plain mesh, the slot in the bonnet looks like a letterbox, the rear spoiler looks like it belongs on a different car and the front foglamp apertures are too fussy. They have however resisted the urge to put some sort of daft diffuser on the back bumper but I can only assume that this is due to the credit crunch and a lack of overtime at Mazda.

I understand it is a very good car but it's too bland to be cool just tips the scales into uncool.
