1969 Dodge Charger
Today we have an American classic, a true muscle car, the 1969 Dodge Charger. This is the car that was used in The Dukes of Hazzard and called The General Lee. This time, due to the fact that this Charger had several different configurations and engines and that I didn't find any reliable or consistent information, I'll skip the stats. So just marvel at this piece of automotive history and remember the days of traffic light drag races.

It's cool. A fantastic looking car, especially with the nudge bars. Remember the black one chasing Steve McQueen in Bullit? Defo a car for my fantasy garage.

quite possibly one of the worst cars in the world to drive, terminal oversteer, followed by terminal understeer, followed by no steer at all, and brakes that make more effective salad bowls than they do retardation devices, not to mention that its not, and in fact never really was, that quick.
utterly sublimely cool car despite, or maybe even because of this.

How can it be anything but Sub Zero.
A car that can jump rivers and broken bridges...... fall into bits on impact... and miraculously repair itself.
Childhood memories outweigh any of its mechanical shortcomings.
If they used an Alfa.... it would do the jumps but the MAF would need replacing.

I just remembered, when I was a lad, I used to walk round corners with my body turned towards the inside of the turn. I was simulating the tail out cornering of the General Lee, and would imagine myself countersteering into the slide. I so wanted to live in Hazzard County! To borrow the words of Steveisfrowning, Did I say that, or just think it!

Cool.
Got to remember, though, that at the time, they were all making great cars, even lowly American Motors jumping on the bandwagon with the Rambler SC (or Scrambler, as it was affectionately known!)
Those were the days... petrol was dirt-cheap, and the car market was driven by car enthusiasts, hot-rodders and racing fans -- " what wins on Sunday, sells on Monday", or words to that effect -- instead of environmental groups and mothers-to-be...

What can I say, the best muscle car ever...esp with the Hemi
The way to find out if you were a petrol head was simple;
Hour with the General Lee or Daisy Duke? No brainer for me
The front aspect in the mirror of the 'Stang in Bullitt
In fact we need colder than sub zero - This is cooler than the mother in laws smiles

Cool, of course.
Unless you are sad enough to paint it orange with 01 on the side but the model itself, yeah, cool.

Voted cool
It would have been sub zero except for the orange 01 version and the fact that the **** from top gear has one.

A bloke at works got one in orange, (he wanted black but an orange one came up) no 01 on side though and with the RT engine (7 litre v8 and special Carb). He has a long drive to work (over the penines) so has only used in 3 times for work as petrol bill was nearly £40. I got him to rev it in the car park and the sound was fantastic, all the office block window opened with in seconds to see what the noise was, car rocked and it probably cost about £5 pound in fuel. He also owned a Exige at the time (chalk and cheese) Cool for me

It's sub-zero. It's a great shape, has a massive engine and would do 200mph in Daytona form nearly 40 years ago.

Sub zero. I rate these along the same lines as the 67' Mustang Fastback,
The one I think I like though is the 1970 model, without the grill divider in the middle??? It's the exact one used in The Fast and the Furious, unless of course that model was a one-off where they had turned the entire front grill into a one piece with the retractable headlights constantly on show:
http://static.screenweek.it/2009/2/3...ge-Charger.jpg
It even has the American Racing Bullitt looking wheels on,
Not a bad way to invest £20,000+ I suppose,
