Citroën SM
This time we have a car that when introduced, back in 1970, was hailed as the best of the world. It was a technical tour de force, loaded with new ideas and ultimately regarded as temperamental due to its complex nature and difficulty to keep it properly running.
I'm attaching an article from How Stuff Works? for you to read. I found it very interesting.

Re: Citroën SM
Fabulous motor, and definitely sub-zero for me. So quirky in that way that the French very occassionally pull off (Facel Vega anyone?)
Would be in my top 10 garage.

Re: Citroën SM
My poor, poor SM how I miss thee
Sub-zero obviously nothing quite like it, the ride, the engine, the noise, the effortless speed, the headaches, the garage bills and the fuel bills
This was my poor baby, no worries about the number plate as its a aquired a new one since the BBQ, only niggle it really had at the end was the alu rot on the bonnet and we'd just got a 'new' one before she went up

Re: Citroën SM
It took a couple of seconds to get used to it everytime it came out of the garage as it was a bit more on/off than normal. It wasn't too different to a normal pedal though, preassure sensitive so you just controlled how much you squeezed the button, just like a pedal.
Besides you spent more time trying to press the accelerator whenever possible.

I had a CX which had the same set-up and the brakes were brilliant to use once you had got used to the pedal. extremely reassuring.
