Re: Aston Martin DBS
Another one of my nominations. It's cool because James Bond drives one.

It may be a better driving car than the DB7 but the purity of the shape is diluted.
For that reason alone Cool rather than Sub Zero for me

Re: Aston Martin DBS
The DB5 was cool..... [James Bond included... circa Goldfinger]
They've all lost something since then... and this uncool.

In fairness to Aston I think they have recovered brilliantly from the 'Virage' years and are (perhaps along with Lamborghini and even Maserati) at the top of their game.
Ferrari, in my opinion, are lost in 'Footballerland' but Aston are never less than 'cool' these days.

Re: Aston Martin DBS
as much as i hate to say its, uncool.
for me Aston evokes class, and clean cut, beautiful cars. this is a mess. the body kit, the cuts up the side and in the bonnet...
db9 is nicer. (V8 is too)

Re: Aston Martin DBS
It's cool, but not sub-zero. Aston, like Ferrari, appear to just go through the motions with every release now, they all look similar, they all sound similar.
Playing it safe is not a cool trait to have, I'm afraid. The badge just about scrapes it into cool territory, but nothing more than that.

Class, sophistication, style. They might not be the fastest cars for the money but there's that classy air about them.
The Vanquish is still my favourite but that doesn't stop the DBS from being a sub zero car

Re: Aston Martin DBS
Cool.
I not quite sub zero as a lot of undesirables have ditched their Porsches for them.

Re: Aston Martin DBS
I remember Goldfinger; not for the plot, or the action sequences, or even the gold plated woman draped over the bed. For me it was the DB5 that mostly got my attention. I didn't have a clue what it was back then, i just knew that it looked good, Bond was driving it so it must be good, and that i wanted one. Preferably with all the gadgets installed. I imagined myself turning up at school in it and instantly being mauled to death by a bunch of insatiable girls. Every one of them would want me, and every boy would want to be me. It was great. It would be silver, have leather seats, and I would go cruising in it around the town, attracting attention from everybody who saw it. I would become an instant celebrity and star in movies and sing songs about how cool it was to be me. I had it all figured out.
I look back at that time now, and apart from noticing how low my self esteem and self worth was back then, and how much of my future life was perceived through a blinding haze of mixed alcoholic drinks, i also see how fortunate i was not to have owned one. Yes, i would have got a lot of attention, but would it have been the welcomed sort? Nearly every footballer has one sitting in his garage, and when footballers start buying cars they instantly lose their cool and their credibility.
As such it sinks to uncool which is a shame because it's not an uncool car. It's a bit like Jordan. Ok, so the rear looks a little too much like an American, and the front end has been messed around with unnecessarily, but other than that it's quite a looker. I just wouldn't want to be seen in it.

Re: Aston Martin DBS
I might have given this just 'cool', but those first three photos are fantastic. =)
I agree though that every Aston looks about the same, to the point where it's "Look, an Aston Martin!" rather than "Look, a DB9 / Vantage / DBS / etc". I hardly know which one's which.

Re: Aston Martin DBS
Sub zero and on the superb selection of pics.
I'm not sure I'm completely sold on the heavy-handed looking bodywork addenda but it is a thing of pure class.
BTW...can we get a really cool sub-zero smiley???

Re: Aston Martin DBS
I gotta tell you guys, I loved the pictures, and had a hard time narrowing them to just 4.
The last two are (almost) always of the interior and the engine, so I don't count them.
