Re: Lotus Sunbeam
Mate had a Talbot sunbeam 1.6 gls. Was a fun car for a teenager!
The Lotus version a deathtrap! So must be sort of cool!
Not that I'm prepared to vote it such, though!

Anything with a Lotus badge is cool.
You could Lotus a Robin Reliant and it would still be cool!

Re: Lotus Sunbeam
I'm going to have to think about this as I'm not sure and I proposed it!
Nicer in black and silver, I always thought, or in rally trim the full Henri GpIV version if you please, Ant!
It was cool at the time but viewed now it is boxy bordering on fugly and mechanically unsophisticated to say the least; surely uncool really, but I like them. Doh!
I'll ponder!

Re: Lotus Sunbeam
Sub zero..
Cracking engine, well balanced RWD chassis, plenty of power in a light shell. Last rear wheel drive car to win the RAC, still sought after on the rally circuit and still formidably competitive to go up against. I'd have one given half a chance

I'm sorry, I don't really know what you're talking about.
Keep in mind that before today, I didn't even know this car existed.
(No, I don't live under a rock, I live on the other side of the Pond, where only God knows what a Talbot Sunbeam is. )

Sorry but it's rubbish, looks awful
If you stuck a lotus badge on a Austin Princess people would still vote it cool by association.

Cool engine but damn, that is an ugly looking car!
Looks like a '70's rear-wheel drive Mazda 323

Re: Lotus Sunbeam
I think you've got to be a fan of the golden age of Rallying appreciate this one. In my mind the only rally car that was cooler, was the Opel Manta Four wheel drive killed rallying for me.
