Re: VW Beetle
My vote would have been the other end of the scale had this been a 60's or 70's vintage beetle! This is a poor poor rebirth of such an iconic car. Yet I cannot deny that sales have made it a popular 21st C revival.

Re: VW Beetle
The modern Bettle is a nice car but will go for the time tested, tried and trusted old one. Owned one once upon a time.

Re: VW Beetle
I voted uncool. The choice of pic didn't help Biggie a pink Beetle
I would have voted seriously uncool for that model, but the heritage these cars have prevented me from so doing. It's difficult to ignore the iconic status of the original People's Wagon.

Re: VW Beetle
I think that picture was designed to provoke a particular response BF
Not that it matters, I've voted the same as I had without a picture at all.
And, for that matter, the same as I would for the original lawnmower-engined, rust-bucket, ugly, only-popular-because-it-was-cheap-and-because-of-Herbie, bulit-by-Hitler piece of rubbish that was the 'classic' Beetle.
So there

Re: VW Beetle
I assure you the picture displayed above was selected in exactly the same way as per the other cars on the Cool Wall

Re: VW Beetle
If it was rear engined it might be cool, for being
a bit quirky, but it's just a Mexican built Golf and therefore
seriously uncool.
I'm sure someone will be along soon extolling the virtues of
a flower pot incorporated into the design on the dash.

Wrong! The original one was designed by Hitler and the new one is a poor copy. Both seriously uncool.

Re: VW Beetle
The original Bug wasn't designed by Hitler, come on
He asked Ferdinand Porsche to make it more suitable for the "working" mass.

Re: VW Beetle
Although the Beetle was designed for the Nazi,
it was a British officer that got it into fullscale
production after the war.

Re: VW Beetle
Uncool. And so was the original. Noisy, uncomfortable and very, very cold in winter. The fact that it had an awful, but quirky engine was not enough to do it any favourers.

Re: VW Beetle
Serioulsy uncool.
The old one is a junk hitler mobile, the new one is a Golf in a fancy frock, and a metrosexuals wet dream.
Those beetle derived buggys are uncool as well, as an old beetle is never a good starting point.

Re: VW Beetle
i didnt look at the picture but the old ones are uncool as well, the fact that everyone bangs on about them and surf dude types drive them is enough to make them deeply uncool. as well as being bloody awful cars.
