Whats the easiest way of removing scratches

Now i have given the car a good hand wash.
I have noticed i have some light to deepish scratches here and there.
Whats the best way to remove them by hand?
Is it time to get the 2000 grit paper out?
Cheers.

Have you tried polishing them out? Start off light - just a car polish such as Autoglym Super Resin Polish.

If that doesn't help try AG's Paint Renovator.

Ive tried polish on the lighter scratches and yes they are much better but i can still see them, the one that bugs me the most is on the front of the bonnet.
Its about and inch long just to left of the badge, and now my eye seems to go straight to it.
Im looking at DIY wet sanding as a solution but dont know if i have the bottle yet. and need more help from people in the know.
So you think AG paint renovator?, AG is top stuff and i would be happy to try any of there stuff but i can feel this scratch with my nail and maybe its not enough to shift it.

It's worth a shot. You need to be so careful about going in too heavy handed too quickly.

You can get crayon type scratch fillers with some coloured polishes that might be worth a go. Have a look in Halfords

If you can feel the scratch with your fingernail, you probably need to add some paint. Paintergirl's suggestion is good, start off with something mild like SRP, which is a nice mild polish (& glaze) but I am not keen on Renovator, I think it is too harsh and there are (IMO) better alternatives such as Gtech P1, which works well be hand or machine

I would be very cautious of wet sanding without a machine polisher  (although I have never wet sanded before), If the budget allows, a machine polisher might be a worth while investment, but you could try other products as PG has suggested like paint renovator and there are some scratch removers available from Halfrauds too.

Although a machine polisher would be nice and may be a future investment, i dont need one at the mo.
Probs need to buy and try some AG renovator, but i do have some Tcut scratch remover in the bottom of my wash bag.
I dont think i have used it since i had a red 146 in 2003, should be alright shouldnt it?

I would avoid T-Cut to be honest. It's too aggressive.

For a quick experiment I tried removing wetsanding marks by hand, I only tried 2500 & 3000 but it can be done. You will need arms like Popeye and a significant amount of time.

The easiest way to remove a scratch is to "fill" it. Fillers will basically fill the scratch and help it blend in with the surrounding paintwork..

However.. if your scratch is deep enough that it's hit the primer then nothing will make it disappear that doesn't involve new paint. A dent (or "SMART") repairer may be able to sort it.

Sanding it (wet and dry, T-cut or anything) will not ever make things better so don't even think about it.

If the scratch is just in the clear-coat but has gone down to the colour coat, then a combination of polishing (to reduce the depth of the scratch) and filling is the way to go. You lower the height of the clear coat with polishing (makes the scratch more shallow) and then fillers help fill in that less deep scratch that remains.

Try Super Resin Polish or similar. It is mildly abrasive so won't dull the paint.. but has lots of fillers. Finish off with a wax to hold the fillers in there longer..

I managed to scrape my passenger door at the bottom the other day while trying to get all the gunk from underneath. Was a tad as you could see these massive white scratches. Went over it with 2 coats of AG SRP and a coat of Dodo Juice Wax and I actually can't see it now. Made me
