It really depends on how much you are looking to spend and if you don't mind waxing her every few months?
So what's your budget

After applying wax does this mean you can hose down all the crap & it'll look like you've just washed it?

To be honest - I find the wax of the Turtle followed by a coat of the Gloss Guard from the same company is very good.
I have tried the essence of Dodo and badly spelt Macguire's, and even Autoglum , but they have not proved to be any better despite paying mucho deniro

I would pay for the quality wax, I just want to look after her right, from the start . Turtle wax did come out on top in the auto express survey

I use Collinite 915, takes some putting on but when finished it lasts for ages, gives that deep look to your paintwork and makes washing extremely easy.

I can tell you what not to use...Zymol cleaner wax....I found it extremly hard to buff and then does not last long...maybe a 2-3 weeks in the winter tops.
It can be good for you though if you'r elooking to build some upper body strength

What he said ^
Last months if you wash the car with a decent car shampoo, traffic film remover and washing up liquid will strip it.
It might seem a bit expensive compared to turtle wax etc but you get a huge tin. I bought some two years ago and still got plenty left after use on my 3 car fleet

Or if you find 915 too much work go for the 845, top stuff that
Put to layers on the Cinq in November and not washed her since and she is still beading water like nothing else, when it rains next I will get some photo's
And to prep the paint to totally remove off old polish and crap use this!

If you want good protection long term look at sealents rather than a wax. Not as shiny but last around 4 - 6 months. Jetseal 109 is what I use and recommend. Easy to put on, leave 20 mins to bond to the paint and then take it off. Two coats will see you through a winter easily.

FK1000p.
Wax/sealant hybrid, very good value for money, very easy to use and good durability.

I would look at products such as Optimum opticoat, apply and then not a lot to worry about for the next year or two. Gtech and others also have very long lasting coatings
Loads of places sell it but have a look at Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 Permanent Paint Coating Elite Car Care
Or for something slightly different, how about some Bilt Hamber Finis wax, should last 6 months

I use DoDo Juice Blue Velvet. Put my last coat on in October and it still beads nicely and looks shiny when washed

Totally agree on the Finish Kare 1kp, around £18 and super durable with a look to die for. Re zymol cleaner wax it's an all in one so will never give you the durability.

The only product I would suggest not using is the Renovator, really quite a harsh product and there are plenty of other products which would do a better job. If you are going to use the SRP & EGP, my suggestion is to apply SRP and wait 30-60 minutes to cure (SRP can be layered if required) then apply the EGP without buffing the SRP. This way you avoid a lot of dust and makes the job quicker. EGP can also be layer.
You can also put SRP/EGP on your wheels, after a damn good clean, you will then find you can simply use shampoo to clean them for up to six months

my son has just told me he has bought HD wax autoglym for, wait for it, £44 yup £44. He does say it is fantastic.
For that price i'd expect a full tank of petrol and a week in Benidorm ( all inclusive)
