These are brilliant
Just finished my first ever Alfa G car wash...I was so excited about washing it. Such fun finding out where all the water runs are.
I used to always use a leather to dry my cars but after reading about how it rubs the wax off
I splashed out on one of the below. And it is amazing, the best cleaning product I have ever used and for £4...its a bargain.
Kent Q6100 Extra Large Microfibre Drying Towel: Amazon.co.uk: Car & Motorbike
It massive as well, about 20% bigger than a tea towel

Is it better at drying than a good leather?
My leather is starting to look a bit rough and was going to pick up a new one tomorrow.
If you think it is better or as good as a leather then i might give it a try for £4.
I wash my White G at least once a week, sometimes twice. its addictive

one thing I noticed first time I cleaned the Giulietta was how the bulbous shape has allowed Alfa to use nice thin steel for the body panels! safer and more efficient I'm sure.

Its twice as quick, leaves no streaks and the glass is like crystal.
I used to pay around £15 for a decent leather, you could get nearly 4 of these and they are washable.
For £4....that a posh large coffee, or a pint of stella. Either way,it lasts longer

Just ordered one off ebay - £3.75 delivered.
Thought I'd give it a go, and have change for 3 Pints of Peroni.

A good thick pile microfibre towel is the only way to dry a car after you have washed it with a sheepskin mitt using the 2 bucket method (one with a grit guard)

Bought a Kent synthetic 'leather' way back which is brilliant, so I'll be sticking with this as it just gets better and better with use

Microfibre cloths are more efficient than Chamois Leathers, besides being much safer.
I have an old chamois which I use on the doors, doorjams and engine.

Harry, that video made me giggle The guys car looks as if it has a bad case of alfa pink, therefore i don't think he really gives a monkey about his car!?
That's my logic anyways.

Munco your G is obviously very new. Would the cloths in question be much better than a chamois for my 99 156 or is it because your car is still new that it for want of a better phrase 'comes up like new'?
Either way I think for £4 I'll try it! dont worry, I'll tell them I heard it from you

I live in a hard water area, and always struggle to remove smears from my blue giuletta and my wife's black astra convertible - only option is to give it a full wax after every wash
Have just ordered one of these and will report back...

what you want mattsv is a quick detailer or aquawax. we've got hard water and the only way i can dry my car without leaving marks is by using one of these drying aids. gives it a little top up too.

I've only used AutoGlum Aquawax and do have to say that it does do a superb job on everything! and i mean everything, just spray it straight on a wet car, don't worry about where it lands, glass, black plastic, etc, etc, just be sure you have a few of the polishing cloths as i like to do it quickly with the initial soaking one and then have a 2nd for the dry slooooow polish and it comes up "Show Room" tarted-up if you know my shizzle, dizzle.

I found the in line filters (got mine from ultimate finish) are good for hard water areas and my last one far outlasted what the manufacturer stated... just a shame i dropped it on its end and broke off the hose fitting
Without the filter I always make sure the car never drys out before i dry it with the microfibre cloth, just keep spraying the whole car with the hose every time i rinse each section I have washed and I find it doesnt dry out then.
Have to say I never got on with the aquawax, made a mess of my wifes car (black) ended up doing it all again and then used proper wax.... did use it the weekend though on the wheels and seemed to be ok.

Used the microfibre drying towel for the first time yesterday and i must say it does a cracking job Much quicker to dry the car off than a chamois and a really good streak free finish. The only negative thing was the amount of wasps hovering around my hand attracted to the bright yellow towel

crikey, been using these microfibre towels for years i thought the chamois leather was out of use a
long time ago, especially when they dry out and are as hard as plastic.
I have 3 so i use one on the glass, one for the upper bodywork and one i only use on the door bottoms and sill covers etc.
A lot quicker and better results than a leather.
