Gtechniq

The other week I thought that I would give my GT a bit of a treat!!
I was talking to a mate of mine and he was telling about Gtechniq. This is a car cleaning and protection system that works differently to your other polishes and waxes that are on the market. Apparently, it works at a nano-level. Don’t ask, I haven’t got a clue either!!!

Anyway, with the promise of copious mugs of tea and bacon butties, last Saturday Kev comes round with a mate of his and his big box of tricks. This included a few plastic bottles of Gtechniq, numerous cloths and a big fold up canopy. I must get one of them!!!

They set about cleaning and polishing the GT with this magic formulae. All the paint work and the plastic trim and windscreen was given a good going over. So, after some 4 hours, this would have been less but stops were made for tea and bacon butties and, as a special treat, homemade beef burgers, the GT looked liked it just came out of the showroom. Actually, I thought it looked better than that!!!

Anyway, here are a few pictures taken after the treatment. I'm well impressed. Top job.

Today I decided to clean the GT. This was done with a quick blast of the jet washer and a wipe off with a micro fiber cloth and it's as good as new. The dirt dosen't stick and the water runs off, so it's quick and easy. More time to spend in the car and not outside applying copious coats of polish, wax and sealents.

Hope you like the piccies

I would throroughly reccomend this stuff.

Thanks to Kevin and Roy

Thanks, mate!!!!

Well, the stuff is not cheap but as it produces results like that it's worth every penny. As they are friends I gave them a drink. But if you want it done I'm sure Kev would offer a discount for members here

Of course the stuff is available from Gtechniq's web site.

Jim,

There are three products applied.

1) P1 Nanocomposite Polish. This gets the surface nice and shiny and gets rid of all the swirl marks and minor scratches. Kev went over two or three times with varying grades of pads.
2) C1 Crystal Lacquer. This is the "top coat", as it were, that protects the paint work and beads the water beautifully
3) C4 Permanent-trim-restorer. This brought my black trim, that had turned grey, back to black and it is STILL black.

Glad you like it. Like I say, it's not cheap but it lasts and lasts.......and lasts.

Not forgeting the G4 Nano Glass polish and G1 Glass treatment too. IMHO one of the best ever glass treatments I've ever used

Looks nice pal, and a good choice in products. Brave applying c1 outside. When you say 4 hours and would have been less, that's not start to finish, right?

Washed the car day before. There were two of them!! Although we were outside it was an overcast day and no chance of rain!!!

Yes jim apply like g1 but don't leave it anywhere near as long. Couple of minutes or less in moderate temperatures. Even after p1 still advise a wipedown though, especially after p2

Well done the lads anyway, correcting and coating a car in under 4 hours outside, even with 2 people is good going, if time is your enemy of course

Here is a link pal

159Ti, Lotus 111S,

Pretty sure it was closer to 6 hours, mind you it wasn't a full 100% correction just a good smarten up. Still the results are quite pleasing As for the question on C1 I wouldn't advise doing anymore than quarter of a panel at a time and make sure you give a good once over to make sure all the streaking has been removed before the product fully flashes off.
