weeping mirrors

hi my problem is this when i wash and dry the 166 water sits behind the mirror , when i drive away or stop the water runs out and down the doors [not a major problem i know ] this does not happen on the 147 . so does anyone have any ideas on how to get this pesky water out . i have tried folding the mirrors in and out but this only gets rid of some of the water

I get this trouble on the 159
I don't know why they can't put a small hole in the bottom so the water can run out.
What i do is put the corner of my drying cloth between the mirror and surrond to soak up the water

Best bet is a leaf blower or air duster to drive out the water, this combined with a flush with DI water is the technique I use on my details

My '45 does it too... (and so does the '55). In fact every car I've had (with fixed-mirror, but moveable glass) does it..

Stuff a cloth into the gap and/or blow out the most of it.

I use compressed air in a can, the type you get from a computer shop to blow dirt out of keyboards.

i've no idea either. i know you can rise ya car after washing it with this water and it doesn't leave water spots.

The reasoning for using the DI is that if any water remains in the mirror and then leaks out during driving it will dry without any water marks left on the finish

Just stick a bit of kitchen roll in there, mops up the water in seconds

Oh ok I never knew that but now that I do I will have to get some I am guessing you would need a lot of it to rinse a car with

I always use kitchen roll to soak up excess wing mirror water, and it works every time
