Bilt and Hamber results

I've had the Bilt and Hamber Auto Balm for a few years now, but haven't had chance to use it on the Alfa GT.

After ordering some more Bilt and Hamber Auto Wash, a new drying towel, buffing cloth and a grit guard I used it all to clean the car.

The pictures can be found here:

http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/motor...ml#post3996964

I am dead chuffed with the outcome.
The depth of colour and shine is something else. The photos don't really show just how it looks. Even the wife and step daughter are amazed at the difference.
It even covers and fills the tiny scratch or swirl marks that were in the paintwork. I will probably do another coat after the next wash, that should see me through for a few washes.

Putting the balm on is something that takes a few attempts to get right. If you load the applicator too much, it just won't buff up properly, you also need to keep the applicator wet, so I have a spray gun with water to hand.
Tiny amounts of the stuff in circular motion, then let dry for a few minutes, buff to a shine.

Great stuff, highly recommend it to anyone!

The problem of keeping the GT clean has just got worse........now I want to keep it in this condition!

Alfa-less for way too long

Very nice result there matey Auto balm has quite a following on Detailing World, nether used it myself Doesnt give the beading effect of most waxes and sealants but does give a great wet look shine from what I've seen and your pics prove that really really well

I use Auto Balm - it's a great product. I used to use Autoglym (very easy to apply/buff) and haven't found Auto Balm any more difficult to use, the trick is to use a very small amount, much like Zymol waxes.

One product of theirs I tried on my 156 was autoclay - I was astounded at the difference it made to the preparation for polishing (I know many will say "been using it for years, mate"). I'd never used it before and wondered about it's effectiveness. Again I used the Bilt Hamber product, easy to use and great result.

I've got some Bilthamber Auto-Balm not the easiest to apply but does give nice results, I've recently been using Turtle Wax Extreme Paste which is much easier to apply and gives a fantastic finish. No idea on longevity though.

I could not get on with Autobalm at all. I much prefer Collinite as I find it looks & beads better. However, the Bilt Hamber Autoclay is ace!! I might try some autowash this summer.

The clay bar is fantastic. Not difficult to use, as long as you use lots of water, spraying it on as you lightly rub the bar around the paint and folding it over every so often.

I will post some photos this week of my father-in-law's 13 year old Mitsubishi Lancer.
Looks like it has been re-painted!!

Used it on the wifes 06 plate red Mini One at the weekend. Obviously didn't look as good as the job on the GT, but still pretty impressive. It glows!

Am re-ordering the clay bar. Think mine will be ready for a good going over in a few months. Especially as the next door house is being rebuilt as we speak, brick dust everywhere! Grrrr...

Some pics of the 13 year old Lancer renewed.

Shame I didn't have before photos but it was looking pretty tired.

Great results on the Lancer!

Did you use a polish/wax to bring out the shine or was this purely after the claying?

Looks like new!

Shame on me but I just used a light silicon wax spray on his car after the clay. (Didn't want to use up my valuable Autoglym which I can't buy here).

But it was that shiny like a mirror even before I put the spray wax on.

Brilliant results.

Thanks.
