Snow Foam - 1st Use Verdict

I purchased the foam lance for the Karcher and tried it today for the first time, and I must say I'm very impressed by it. It goes on nice and thick, and after leaving it for a few minutes, switched to the normal lance and blast it off leaving the car nice and clean, as I wash my car on a regular basis (weekly) you can get away with just using snow foam as a quick and easy solution. i went over the car with a brand spanking new white wash mitt and hardly any dirt came off. (Wheels though do need a going over)

Also to note, it was very windy today and managed to get a lot of snow foam on the car next to mine, so had to do that one quickly too

Pro's:

> Only uses a couple of cm's in the container.
> You can get away with just using snow foam without bucket and sponge / mitt.
> Quick and rather effortless.
> Requires only a few Cm's of snow foam.
> prolongs the life of your wash mitt
> Looks great on the car

Con's

> Will need a quick wipe down if car is caked with dirt (or not cleaned for a long period of time).
> Leaks a little, not much.
> tricky to take off or place back on as hands get slippery and struggle to lock the lance in place.

8/10

if it's well minging, you can put some apc (all purpose cleaner) in with the foam too.

You do realise however that using APC in your washing/foaming solution will remove any wax previously applied, thus removing all protection and exposing your paintwork to the elements.

Your car may look superclean (and it will be) but will soon get very dirty very quickly.

Its a little like using mag wheel cleaner on your alloys, the more you use it the more you have to.

A month or so on....

Been using it every week so far and still really liking it apart from the little odd leak, used it today however and left white streaks on the plastics , it was the 'hottest' weekend so far so it dried on the car very quickly, I didn't leave it to dry, all I did was go over the wheels to agitate the dirt and then used the Karcher, but even that seem to be too long .

Took awhile to remove, but not sure if this is just masking the streaks

anyone else had this?

After reading this thread a few weeks back I bought the gun and foam for my Karcher from CleanYourCar.co.uk. I ordered their Super Snow Foam. It does a good job in removing the grime and forms a mass of of foam. I applied it then blasted off followed by a wipe with a wash mitt and clean water. There was very little dirt left for the mitt to remove and I rinsed again after.
For me the plus points were ... Cuts down washing time, takes a lot effort out of the job and it's quite fun to use.
Major, major downside of the Super Snow Foam I bought is that it seems to remove all previous wax. There was no beading at all on the fnal rinse. For that reason I would try another make next time. It's not a massive problem because I usually use a polish after every wash anyway, but I do like the option of not doing it. I haven't noticed any streaking, I always leather to dry.

I also use a was mit with a tiny bit of shampoo and rinse again, only 1/4 of a bucket and the mitt is still nearly clean after!

Purchase yourself a towel from there, they are fantastic and won't look back to drying blades or leather shami's anymore!

Chemical Guys Ultra Plush Towel - Miracle Dryer

I do need to find and buy a good wax
