147 GTA Pink Bits

Hi All,

Firstly may I say congratulations on such a brilliant forum! Full of usefull info and even allowed me to contact the previous owner of the car im buying.

Anyways, Im in the throws of purchasing a Red 147 GTA - cant wait to get it, the only niggle is that some of the red bits have started to oxidise and have gone pinky, particularly the skirts.

Ive not got the car yet so havent attacked it with a paint restorer but has this happened to others whats the best way of restoring these?

Ive read that there lacqured and as such theres no chance of getting them back to red, is this true?

Also some of the black leather is showing slight signs of wear, do you know whats the best product to rejuvinate and bring back the black? I am quite anal as i like my cars spotless.

Also does anybody know of a decent detailer in the cheshire area? It may be easier for me to get it up to scratch and then keep on top of it!
Thanks very much

Andy

Yes Alfa use a clearcoat so its virtually impossible to bring it back. My cloverleaf is a lovely pink and the green badges have gone blue. I can only imagine what the car must have looked like factory fresh but i get a clue when i open the door and see a deep alfa red on the sills!

Often the pink tinge is due to the clear coat being scratched to bits. You should get a good result from a pro detailer.

You can still get a vast improvement by polishing and waxing your car.
