What should I apply my polish with?
Right I've got my AG SRP and AG EGP (getting the lingo now!). What should I be applying them with. Previously, I've been using old bedsheets and T-shirts but is there anything better that isn't stupidly priced?

I use Asda polishing cloths (Nice and cheap) and then buff off with a Microfibre.

If you go to Pound Land they have some MF applicators. 5 in a pack.

I use(d) Meguiar's Even Coat microfibre pads.

Microfibre pads are the way to go Applying it is the easy part You need a good quantity of good microfibre cloths handy to get it off. Work in small sections - the longer you leave polish, the harder it is to remove.

Meg's foam pads to put it on. Poundland microfibre to take off. They even have black microfibre cloths to match my car! Also use 99p shop green towels for dogs as chamois, they are better than Meg's waffle pattern. Two will dry off my GTV very nicely. Originally bought them for my GSD but I thought I'd try them out first on the car, so now the dog (Spider) has to make do with cast off towels.

Does he eat them, if they have a lingering fruity smell of car-care products?

No, but he has a habit of taking just the labels off flannels, pillow-slips, towels and rugs. I think it is to show he's not impressed with labels.

I prefer using foam over MF's/ polishing cloths to apply polish, no real benefit just feels nicer to hold. I use a Sonus german applicator because it is a good balance between big for quick coverage but not too big so it's never akward.

micro fibre really but I actually use the team of Polish (as in from Poland) lads at the local car wash, very effeicient and they can clean , polish and wax all in about 2 hrs- saves me doing it.

German applicators + SRP = the next best thing to machine polishing
You can use the compounding side with a medium polish for a bit of correction for a bit of correction of in behind door handles before you apply SRP

I went for old bedsheets in the end as my local branch of poundland was all out of microfibre applicators.
One round of the SRP and a couple the the Extra Gloss later and I'm quite happy with the results.
