Volcanic ash ****...

Is that volcanic ash stuff landing all over the place? Will it wreck my paint?

I'm in the jungle at the moment (been posted to West Africa) and I left me beast outdoors in leafy Surrey for the duration..

Will I come back to find it entombed, Pompeii-like, under a layer of ash or has that stuff not really settled yet?

Will my paint be vaporised within a millimetre of it's life by the time I get back? My lad had half a pot of Poorboy's Natty Blue was on it... so I'm hoping it can shrug off the airborne assault... but if it's going to melt my paint, I'll get my boss to pay for someone to go round and give it a wash!

I like the guide they've put on there, it's what everyone should be doing anyway, a good pre rinse, 2 bucket method, keep the car wet.

Also, the worst you could do is induce some fairly bad swirl marks, hardly thousands of pounds worth of damage.

How can a pH neutral shapmoo neutralise the ash? Surely it needs to be mildly alkaline to neutralise it Also, sponge? Don't think so.

Snowfoamer (used on supersoft, wide spary setting) + alkaline TFR (I know it strips wax) was my method today. 2 weeks worth of grime removed with a touchless wash
