Re: Anyone tried his?

The fact that a particular car manufacturer "uses" a polish or wax is the LAST reason I would ever want to use it. In fact quite the opposite. A whole industry has grown from the dreadful state in which most new cars leave the showrooms. Washed with a old piece of foam from a mattress, dried with grandads wirefronts and then "buffed" (ha ha that's funny) with a wool bonnet on a rotary by some burk who doesn't know the difference between a polish and a wax. "Don't worry sir, we'll give your car a full pre-collection valet" Bwhahaha.

Re: Anyone tried his?

never meant to be so powerful in my terms ! but fell into this trap of buying a product based on a title and thinking thats is all i need to get a great finish , when in fact its the paint prep that gives you a great finish and products like wet mirror finish enhance that finish not create it ! ! !

i have done some back to back tests using wet mirror finish along with other products onto of prep paint work (i.e clayed , paint cleaner , glaze or AG SPR) and on met balck , solid black , Silver , now Alfa Red , wet mirror gave a good result but is "outshined" by Carlack and 476 no question !

but i don't use any of these products on there own , as there part of a layering system currently i'm use this;

wash(CG citrus wash/lambwool mitt)
Clay (if needed one-twice a year)
Swirl remover (again only if needed once twice a year)
paint cleaner Carlack 68 Nano ( this is fantastic stuff )
AG SRP (still like super resin for its filling propeties but never on its own)
Carlack sealant but want to try Jetseal as heard so many good things)
Collinite 476 (pete's 53 and 50/50 are great but i prefer the durability and ease of use 476 gives)

i think my point was if you only use one product "Wet mirror finish" and expect to get the above result then ????? i did some 50/50 panel tests using WMF and it did not give me the same result using the above using Carlack.

but i'm still fairly new to detailing after being a bucket and sponge man and maybe a polish every blue moon before !

Well, weather permitting I'm going to try the WMF today.

Re: Anyone tried his?

Rain stopped play. As predicted.

Edit - easy on/off high grade wax over top. It's quite impressive. I wouldn't say outstanding bit it was only cheap.

Re: Anyone tried his?

Whole car has been done now,

1. Lime Prime cleanser

2. Wet Mirror Finish

3. DoDo Juice over the top

Looks very nice indeed outside, glinting in the sun. Soon to be rained upon no doubt.

I have tried CG Jetseal, Pete's 53' and 5050. All superb products and make Alfa Red look outstanding after a Sonus Machine polish...
