Yeah, strange. But not attracting much interest, other than someone trying to nick it. Auction ends tomorrow - what's the betting it doesn't make reserve?

Re: Where was this car sat for 3 years?

I remember seeing a Rover 214 old shape (1994-1996) on a 'R' reg, so that was 2 years later, they had all become 'bubble' models then, but, 3 years!? More likely 4 as they would have been making the Face-lifts through 2003 for release in September '03...

I wonder what the reserve is, can buy a nice 51 plate pre-f/l for about £2k these days... why pay over that just cause its supposedly an '06

Re: Where was this car sat for 3 years?

this is a lot more common then most people think. I used to work for a main dealer parts department and by the chassis number we could tell the actual day the vehicle was made and it have known vehicles to been built 2 0r 3 years even remember 4 years once, before the vehicle was registered.
All you have to do is drive past portbury docks at bristol and see the thousands and thousands of new cars just sat there gathering dust and that should make you realise how common it is.
Ford have airfields full of cars they cant get rid of

I was just about to mention RPD as that is where I drove a transporter out of years ago, and I recall load old model UNregitered cars onto it, these cars were at least 3 years old and mainly heading for Hull toget on another boat to the far east.

Re: Where was this car sat for 3 years?

scary bit is if the car was sotred well?

assuming it was on a forecourt or in dealer storage, the correct storage procedures were unlikely to have been taken - not a good thing

if that was not the case, certainly a decent price

I am probably going to make myself look stupid here, but didn't the Gta continue with the old type front and grill?

Yes?

No?

Maybe I ought to look it up...

Yes, it's certainly not "new" new. Could have been manufactured in 2005 I guess, but seems a bit strange that it hangs aroung somewhere for all that time and then appears on the market.

As the number plate has the wrong typeface and spacing, perhaps this car is not all it seems...
