I'm guessing it was introduced as there are some sig pics which are a lot bigger than the allowed size of 500 x 125

I've seen a few huge sigs fairly recently at least double that limit

It's annoying seeing the yellow bar with the warning triangle too

The signature images are now automatically resized to keep them in line with the rules;
* The maximum width is 500 pixels and
* The maximum height is 125 pixels and
* The maximum file size is 150 kB
There's nothing we can do about the auto resize message.

David, I suspect the auto resize isn't working on one of your browsers is possibly because you have a script blocker running?

A script is something that can be run on a webpage to resize images or run software in the background (Java etc) and that's what the AO image resizer is. If you're running a script blocker then it won't run.
It also might not run due to some browsers security settings.

I've learnt something new today

PS Just noticed some user's sig pics are being resized on IE but not Joss' sig, no big deal anyway.

We feel the current size is perfectly adequate for a signature image. The idea is to prevent it being a distraction and to keep things clean.

Perhaps those members with oversize signatures should reduce them a tad.

Clicking the small triangle on the right hand side of every post will take you to the top of the page.
Very handy as you can instantly reach the site navigation bar!
