Group specific threads eg Sports related eg football

Would it be better to have a separate lounge for discussions on sports that way users who do not wish to the hundreds of threads appearing can not subscribe to a particular group and therefore fill up the threadlist view

for example in the past couple of days the amount of football threads being started is a fair few so if they were all grouped under a separate lounge / group then I could say am not interested and the forum could filter them out

i mean if you did it as a permanent solution then people would use it and if threads opened in non lounge group were moved then people would get used to it

i suppose it is the majority ruling

No it wasn't. I don't see the need myself & as suggested in a few other threads where would it end, EG a Music Lounge, A Gadget Lounge etc. All of which would create more work for Admin.

It would also possibly leave WOT with fewer threads & at times it's already got few enough.

I just Ignore ( or not ) the threads that are of interest to me

but surely WOT should be for threads that are WOT and not just a bucket where everything else is put?

i mean if there are alot of threads about football or any other topic then surely it proves that there is enough interest in that topic and therefore is not WOT?

logically speaking initially yes more work but after a short time less work

WOT as in not covered in any of the other existing Sections perhaps.

I'm not sure about the less work after a short time, see the Introduction Section & Tech Lounges for an example of how some things never change

so are you saying that amount of threads out there at the moment covering topics that are "dumped" under WOT do not warrant a group to themselves eg sport etc etc

I think there are so many football threads right now just to wind Quinn up

Yes that's my opinion.

However todays Football thread count is exceptionally high but that's Q's fault an exception for other reasons
