I Think A Temporary World Cup Lounge Would Be Beneficial To The Forum
Can we have one please?
If it works then maybe it could become a permanent Sports Lounge.

You are assuming everyone would use the lounge & not just post their threads in WOT as has always been the case for all sport related threads ( excluding motorsport, mostly ), even more work for the MODs longterm
IMHO of course

I can see why the question is being asked but it might set
a precedent causing the question to come up every time a
similar event is taking place.

Not IMHO Gibbo
The WC attracts the most threads and it's only just started. Cricket/snooker etc doesn't attract so much attention here. I'm no fan of football but don't mind the WC. However, it does seem for the most part that anyone with an idea about it just creates another thread without searching for others that might suit. Now can we get people to do a search and use the existing ones if present? I guess the answer is no, unfortunately. So I think, in that case, Roswell's temporary idea for a WC lounge might be a good idea. You can then move all the threads back to WOT once the WC is over and talk has died down a bit.
Don't think we need a seperate permanent sports lounge though.

Yeah I know and then there was another started by VO2Max which I thought general discussion could take place in, where I even posted, but that's drifted off into older pages pages.

With all due respect to folk here, it probably requires sticking more so than the very slow restuarant thread. Maybe unstick it back into WOT and the WC Stakes as that should stay alive with the people partaking in it? Only because I don't want to advocate too many stickies because at the moment I need to scroll down the WOT page, to even see the first thread.

Then, as mentioned above, move them back into WOT after the World Cup

As a mod, I think it's an idea worthy of consideration at least, but I have no say in the matter (and I can see both sides, so don't feel strongly enough to try to push it).
If admin choose to implement it though, I'll happily support the idea.
Rosie - if you don't feel this is being given enough notice, perhaps you could raise it as a support ticket? That should guarantee someone relevant sees it. Admin aren't around as much as mods.
