Help Hot alfa 147

Hello

I started my 147 from cold Friday evening. Drove 1 mile at under 2000 rpm and the dash beeped

. the coolant is at it maximum temperature.

Cooled the car down and added water and slowly got the car home.

Please help

1. what the beep has happen to my car

2. Does anyone know a good Alfa mechanic in Macclesfield SK11

sounds like the thermostat has jammed closed. what engine is it? it really shouldn't be a big job

Hi

its A 2.0 Litre rebuilt at 75000. it now has 92 on it.
