Still confused on attachments

I've read the reports that users can enter pics anywhere in text and everyones done it????
No one says how??? totally confused. could someone please give an idiots guide to it.

To add a picture within your text, like this:

You need the 'Standard Editor' or 'WYSIWYG' editor (like the pic above). This editor can be changed in 'Profile'->'Edit Options', go to the bottom of the page and in the section 'Message Editor Interface' change the editor type. This will give you a 'Insert Image' button (but it will ask for a URL so it will have to be hosted on a server). If you use the 'Standard Editor', once you've inserted the image, you will see the [IMG] & [/IMG] tags that are placed around the picture URL.

You can insert the attachment anywhere


Just upload you attachment as usual

Then click on the attachment file in the dropdown tab & the attachment will be placed wherever the cursor was at the time

Oh yeah, or as David says above, you can 'Go Advanced' and upload an attachment from your computer as well as a URL.... so many ways to do the same thing

Try this.

When replying or starting a new Post look at the bottom of the text box you are typing in, two buttons there, " Post Quick Reply " and " Go Advanced ".

Click " Go Advanced ".

Scroll down to " Additional Options " which is under the Post Icons and the first set of " Submit Reply " and " Preview " Buttons.

Click on the " Manage Attachments " Button. A new Tab appears and gives you a couple of options of where to find the picture you want to upload.

Select your pic. If you are uploading from your own PC just select " Browse ", find your pic and then open it. The url will then appear in the the box.

Next just select " Upload " and that's job done. You can then close or minimize this Tab to get it out of the way.

If you wish to Preview before Posting select " Preview ", if not just hit " Submit Reply " and the job is done.

Remember that there is a max size limit to the files you want to attach, this is shown on the Attachments Tab, for JPEG it's 200Kbs so edit your files before trying to attach them, bear in mind that a typical digital pic will be over 2Mbs, this will not upload.

Easiest way is to copy and then paste and save it as a WORD document.

bobda is of course quite right, for some reason I had it in my head that you wanted a copy on your own PC, not necessarily " on line. "
