AO Flyers?

Anybody think that an AO flyer, inviting new members to join our community would be a good idea? The AROC send them to all members, and they've had a fair bit of success in attractind additional members - handing them out to Alfa drivers, or just sticking them under the wiper of prospective owners. (and you can use your discretion as to who gets one!)
No need to be anything special (or expensive) just a simple explanation and the web address - maybe also with the referers name? There are hundreds out there who aren't members. Just a thought for controlled and targetted expansion.

Re: AO Flyers?

To some unfortunately, I reckon they are just a car, to us enthusiasts, a medal and bar. Worth a try, I suppose.

Re: AO Flyers?

As I hinted ZF, you can chose exactly which Alfas you put the flyers on - There's certainly a few round here that are probably not even aware that they are driving a huge artistic piece of automotive history, and those should be avoided. I attend a variety of car and motor sport events where there is often a choice selection of obviously cherished Alfas - the sort which you would have no hesitation in striking up a conversation with the owners. Being able to officially recommend AO to them would be a natural privilidge. Mass-posting in Tescos car park would not be recommended, especially around Birmingham!

Re: AO Flyers?

Reckon those who love them, will stay true to the brand, as will the Lanciasti' Etc.? They had such an opportunity in 1989,as did Lancia, somewhat earlier, both require us enthusiasts to keep pushing?:

Re: AO Flyers?

Happy Christmas ZF Gearbox
They're closing the playpen I jokingly refer to as the 'office' now, so it's off to last minute shop for the woman who has everything.
I'll check in over the holiday if festivities permit.

Re: AO Flyers?

it's a great idea. a guy on my road has just got rid of a TT and got himself a 159. i've never met him but this would be a great ice-breaker bizarrely enough he is alan and his mrs is kate, same as me & mrs al 2 al & kates, 2 dark grey alfas on a road of less than 25 houses

Re: AO Flyers?

Funny you should mention this as I had an idea about this the other day. Not flyers as such, but credit card size mini ads... May be possible to get them in member packs.. There are so many times when I see an alfa parked up. I want to know if the owner knows about the site.. if not.. why not let them know anyway. Proactive flyering in a way...

You do have to be careful with printer inks though as some will smugde when wet.. so you might have people saying, yeah great site!! thanks for the stain of black ink on my windscreen! hehe
