I think the comments along the lines of "off you go/take it or leave it" from many members who should know better are not reflecting well on the AO spirit and perhaps are even out of character for some of the people who say them
Jabberwocky, I personally interpreted Ians message as meaning that an attempt to address the situation was going to be made soon and that perhaps it might render some of the previous discussions moot.
I'm not by any means in favour of rewriting history on the boards, its against the spirit of an Open community, I hope AO will turn out to be an open community..
However I thought on this occasion that Ian deserved a chance and I would wait to see what he has to say - at which point it may genuinely turn out to have been for the best.
I would like to say that I personally am very appreciative of the work all the AO staff do and happily would donate to its upkeep, to be honest if how to actually do this had been a bit more in your face I would have done it long ago
My personal view is that AO is at a crossroads now despite some peoples comments that nothing much has really changed.
However I do think there is a matter to be addressed regarding respect
for the full AO communities past content contribution to AO, and that communications about the future of AO should be cogniscant of that shared history, and a potential shared future.
