This was my thinking on it, not that it made any difference as I am happy to pay for the same reasons MB has just said.

Might be worth a "cooling off" period for some and I might suggest the private poll be started by a Member of the Board (ie Admin/Mod etc)at the time they decide fit.

As a non (paid up) member I don't think it would be fair for us (non paid up members) to have a say on if you open up WOT. It has to be down to those who currently pay for the service to decide if they get less for there money.

I know this is a hot topic. But you guys have all paid. Effectively it your site and only you should have the final say on which benefits you open up.

I realise the sentiment behind this is very heartfelt but this site is for all members, paying or not

I'm with GC, no, not because I'm not a paid up member (I will be when I can sneek some money past the wife ). But, before the club was up and running the main parts of the forun for me were 'Gen. Alfa discussions', the 'Poll' lounge and WOT. I only ever went to the tech lounge to either find answeres or ask questions (still a young'ish Alfa owner, so not too much tech knowledge to offer myself yet).

Re: Suggestion: can we open up the WOT & Image lounges to all members?

I think WOT should definitely be open to everybody. It's part of the fabric that makes up AO and certainly the section where (in my opinion at least) AO becomes a community as well as a forum. To exclude newbies and those who choose to remain as "basic" members could damage this community feeling and ultimately lead to a downturn in forum usage which is no good for anyone.

As far as "getting my money's worth" for my 25 I didn't do it to get forum privileges, I paid it becuase I'm completely happy to support Ian & Co with the cost of running the place. I like the idea of getting extra stuff for my subscription such as the software, but integral parts of the forum like WOT should remain open to ALL members

Cooling off sounds very sensible
That's not like you Kurz

What Wrinx said
after all we are all AO'ers paid members or not

My take on this is the same as AL I subscribed to help Ian and the team and the extra bits are nice.

Re: Suggestion: can we open up the WOT & Image lounges to all members?

Thanks for taking my comment in the spirit it was meant.

Obviously we are all members and we all make up the community, but you guys (and gals) have all paid for a service (as described elsewhere). I just felt that it would be unfair that you got a less of a service after you paid for it. Hopefully the team will ensure you get you moneys worth by offering you additional features to make up for its loss.

Paul

PS I'm quite looking forward to joining now

Clearly a bunch of philanthropists.

If there are no benefits there will be no renewals and no investment.

Re: Suggestion: can we open up the WOT & Image lounges to all members?

My two penneth worth for what its worth, why not leave the WOT & other forum parts open for the first 1,2 or 3 months to get members hooked remind them via timed emails that their viewing and or posting access to the selected lounges ceases unless they join and pay reddies, cash, luka etc

Dont now if the technology will allow this?

If i am talking total carp. please will a mod remove this post and ban me instantly

Thank you & goodnight
