AO Insurance policy

If anyone has taken out insurance through AO/Adrian Flux in either December or January, please could you reply here as AF are suggesting no one took out a policy. I know of a few others that saved and I would like to take this information to them.

Please advise as soon as you can.

Best regards,

AO Admin

I must be doing something wrong.

My AF quote was 42% more than what I'm currently paying with elephant.

I am sorry we were not competitive for you, although please ensure your policy with Elephant is a 12 month policy and not a 10 month policy.

Adrian Flux only do 12 mth policy's which enables NCB to be gained.

Thanks

Well I did - very happy with the service so far.

Had to endure the "we want your username and password" nonsense, but Dan sorted it out for me

I only have 2 days left before I'll be sticking with my current supplier so someone at AF really needs to email/call me sharpish!

Re: AO Insurance policy

Just filled the form in, I'm with Nationwide at the moment but I'll be just turned 21 on the 1st April when I reknew so I will be able to go back with LiverpoolVictoria if they are the cheapest (I get CSMA union discount). My first car was with them, a 2001 Mazda 323F GSE 1.5, 900 for 3rd party fire & theft aged 18. Not bad but they wouldn't insure me on the Alfa till I'm 21 or over so had to move to Nationwide. I hope Adrian Flux are competetive but I doubt they'll beat my LV quote.

Re: AO Insurance policy

I'm not up for renewal until May - but I will definitely be seeking a quote from AF when the time comes.

(I knew all this time I've been spending on the forum would pay off one day )

Re: AO Insurance policy

Just had an interesting call to AF following a quote for my 164 Super 24V.

Background: Age 53, comprehensive insurance, 7 years or so NCB, wife to drive, no convictions claims etc, 3000 miles per annum. Price quoted was £319.47!!!. WTF. Last premium paid was about £140 with Swiftcover (£600 xs). I'd expect to be able to insure a 3.2litre 166 for £319 - my 350Z costs around £350.

Anyway, following a call to AF, I spoke to a helpful male (sorry don't know who) who looked into the problem and came up with a classic car policy, £200 xs, for approx £149. I'll wait to see what the renewal from Swiftcover is, but this is definitely competitive.

Moral - it is worth phoning back following a quote. If it was you I spoke to Dan, then thanks.

Re: AO Insurance policy

Well my insurance is up for renewal this month so was going to give this a bash, based on past experience AF weren't very competitive even with my modified cars but i'll give them a shot, I assume they will cover modified cars under the AO banner, I have filled in a quotation form but it never asked those details I guess I will find out.

Re: AO Insurance policy

I've just had a go as my insurance is up at the end of this month.

The renewal from my current insurers was 459.

AF quoted 471; the highest I got was 573.

I've got a number of various quotes from More Than but the cheapest I got was doing it on line which was 374.51; the next being Hastings Direct at 387.27 "if I take it out today".

However Chris Knott (my current brokers) reckon they can get it for 10% less than my lowest quote - unfortunately by the time I could get back to them their office had closed - so we'll see if that's true tomorrow

Dan; if you read this you might be interested to know that I had a go of using AF's 'On-line' Quote over this weekend. I got a message saying that AF would get back to me but I've received nothing by e-mail; the quote I did get was when I phoned AF up just after lunch and got one via the phone.
