Wave Overnight work at AO - UPDATE

Hi all,

I have just finished importing the first 155 threads that corrupted us a few weeks ago, it was a massive task (unknown in time hence the message of 5-12 hours) I will not bore you all to death but it is now looking like the section is up and running in its rightful place at the technical assistance lounge. I managed to find 30,000 posts+ but I must stress with minimal testing. I have seen a couple of things that are a bit weird and I will get to those later on.

Whilst I was waiting for things to upload etc... I finished updating the forum so that when you open the "Total members that have visited the forum today" section which is under the main whos online section, if you hover over a user name, it will now tell you what time that member last visited that day.

ON HOVER Example: 11:07.

The above time is only relevant to your time line, it may be 11:07 in your country but it may actually be 19:07 their country. Also Invisible users need not worry, you are not even listed on this section as being online that day.

Just thought you might find it handy to know?

AO

Re: Overnight Changes to AO - 29-12-06

Changed the way that new posts operates, something I missed when implementing, it will actually show you posts from the last rolling 24 hours. Just so you know.

Happy Man. that is truly amazing. Have only seen 3 together and that was at AROC national day! Have you registered yours with the AROC by the way. I still have a copy of the letter for you re: ARUK Cup numbers. Get in touch and I'll send to you. Cheers

Um... okay, a little too much info there!

Needless to say, we're all most grateful for your dedication to the forum.

Re: Overnight work at AO - UPDATE

awwww, mine goes all gooey for a cuddle, women are so easy to please.

I think...

But then it could all be some form of cunning reverse psychology to make a man THINK he got away with it!!!

Re: Overnight work at AO - UPDATE

Thanks Ian - people like me tend to take the site for granted - so eager to post we sometimes miss the fact that there is a massive amount of work put in to ensure that it all works.

As I say - thanks.

Paul.

Well I didnt have too many, i was on redbull and a few vodkas and fags, but you cannot just walk away when doing database uploads, you have to note all the errors as they will need fixing there and then, if you dont note them, you have to spend a long time hunting them down.

I didnt intend on staying up to 5am, it just happenned that way, I got up again at about 08:30 I think and started again as it had to be done, even then the server didnt complete its part until about 16:00 (I think)

Appreciate the thanks, I just hope when I need support you will come running if you can

Ian
