If you can`t see threads, log out or change skin to modern - FIXED

Hi,

Have you changed the board in any way overnight?

Last night I could see message contents but now if I click on a post message link I get a blank page!

The link now seems to have the name of the post in it followed by html. Has that changed? didn't it just used to be a number?

It works fine in IE but not ion Firefox v2.

I've emptied all caches, rebooted, fiddled etc but no luck.

Apologies if its in the wrong area, and its just occurred to me that I probably won`t be able to see the answer unless I use the hated IE

Re: I can't see any posts either!!!

I had this problem yesterday, with any posts (mine or others) and it seemed to fix itself after a while

EDIT: Oh, I didn't realise there were several threads with the same problem going... okay "got" it... it's because people can't see other peoples threads or summat

Yes it's annoying but if you read this thread you'll see it's something they are working on and are very aware of.

Cry Like A Baby Techy help....can't see threads!

Chaps and chappettes,
I 'upgraded' to IE7 yesterday and at first all seemed well.....
However, since this morning I can't view any threads on AO. I can select a forim/lounge, but if I select a thread within it just opens a blank page, saying done at the bottom
I'm kinda hoping I can at least post this.....
Any help and suggestions most welcome as I feel somewhat impotent at the moment
Obviously it may be a bit awkward to see any replies so feel free to PM any suggestions.

Re: Techy help....can't see threads!

so uninstall it and download mozilla firefox. much better browser, easy to use and i find it faster at loading pages than IE6 or IE7

Re: Techy help....can't see threads!

There seems to be a problem for some and you are not alone. Don't think it has anything to do with IE7, so don't touch that. Don't know if you can see the "Forum/Board Comments" lounge, but several people have started threads saying the same thing

EDIT: this in reply to the original post as Marko just got his inbetween

Re: People who can`t see posts can see them if logged out

Same here, can't read any posts when logged in, managed to read this post whilst logged out and was login and reply, I probably won't be able to see it when the page reloads

Running Red hat enterprise linux and FireFox 1.5.0.4 as alwasy never had a problem before.

I think it's a problem with the classic skin :-(

Switched to modern and no probs

Re: People who can`t see posts can see them if logged out

This is the same problem I posted about weeks ago. Again, the solution for me was to switch out of the classic skin and into the modern one. It's what I had to do again today as I couldn't see the posts while logged in, even though I could when I was viewing as a guest.

I know that solution won't work for most people as they are already using the modern one, but it's the best I can do.
