Alfa Romeo Independant's

As a suggestion, what is the chance there of being a dedicated section for Alfa Independant's nationwide. As more and more of us are getting seriously fed up with the lacklusture service we get from main dealers, we are turning to indys. The problem gets worse though as trying to track them down is a nightmare! Some are not even listed in the Yellow Pages, let alone on the net.
For example, I only found out about Alfa Sport in Cambs, the other week through word of mouth - I would have never found them without this especially when they are just outside the Essex border.

What I was thinking is having a search facility where you can search within a radias of where you live, thus picking up indys outside of your county. You could also link posts/recommendations to them.

Feedback anyone?

Re: Alfa Romeo Independant's

Just looking through the forum this evening alone, there are loads of people wanting to know where there are indys in their area, so it would be very helpful to everyone if the above could be done, I'm sure!

What about a map?

Similar to the member's location map, or even on the same one with a different symbol! Click on the Symbol and you could get the relevent contact details and a list of AO members who are happy to endorse the garage following a positive experience with them.

Nah - maybe I am not explaining myself properly, but I do not want ANY reference to dealers - you can find them out on the alfaromeo.co.uk site.
I would like to see just a list of searchable indys via postcodes and distance selectors - that all. No comments, nothing - this avoids any legal problems.

All we need are just the names and contact details of the indys in a searchable method as mentioned above.

AROC publish a Directory of Services containing the most comprehensive list of UK (and some foreign) specialists. It's renewed every two years and is free to members. There's an online copy on the AROC forums.

Re: Alfa Romeo Independant's

there's also a specialist in Bishops Stortford, so a member derived listing would be handy. With perhaps a rating systems?
