Alfaowner Mozilla/Firefox Search Plugin

Mozilla/Firefox users may like to know you can add additional search engine plugins including vBulletin Forums!! You can search the AO forums direct from your browser, get it here if you want http://a1ehouse.no-ip.com/a1ePLUGINZ

You can also modify it to any other forum you frequent, more details here: http://mycroft.mozdev.org/download.html !

In addition, you can also add searchterms:

Bookmarks>Rightclick 'Quick Searches'>Manage Folder>Add a new bookmark

Quote:
Name = 'Alfaowner Quick Search'
Location = 'http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/search.php?do=process&sourceid=Mozilla-search&query=%s'
Keyword = 'ao'
Press return/Click OK.
When you type 'ao <searchterm>' in the address bar, (e.g. ao 147) the <searchterm> (147) is searched for. Use aswell/instead of the engine!

Enjoy!

...it maekesh me do a shecks wee...

There used to be an search (input) plugin for galeon browser, that you could of configure to input any GET data to any site

But this is cool, can IE do this?

Re: Alfaowner Mozilla/Firefox Search Plugin

Sure can. Try this Registry tweak:

Save this as ao.reg then double click it to save into registry.

Quote:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchUrl\ao]
@="http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/search.php?do=process&sourceid=Mozilla-search&query=%s"
Now in the address bar type 'ao <searchterm>' e.g. 'ao 147' again and away you go.
