Marked Read Not Marking

I don't know if I'm the only one experiencing this, but for the past couple of days AO has been a bit wonky.

After reading a thread, the thread isn't being marked as read -- i.e. the flashing arrow is still flashing, and the thread headers remain bolded. Mind you this doesn't happen all the time. Today it is happening with about 50 per cent of the threads I've read. Yesterday it was about 85 per cent.

I know it's no big deal, but I just thought I'd let the powers that be know that this is happening.

Re: Marked Read Not Marking

Yep, same thing, I read the forum by clicking on new posts, once I read a post and click "back" the arrow always used to go away but last few days most of them have not. No settings have changed,

But

at work when I read the forum the new post indicator always stays, unless I post in that thread,
any ideas AO ppl

btw, when i mark the forum read it always clears all posts.

@Toronto:

Thanks for the advice, I did recently make a small code change that may of caused this, however, it should have made surfing faster, Im just looking for the fine line between...

Could you do me a favour... the next time this happens to you, could you refresh your page and tell me if it then indicates the thread has been read.

Cheers

Ian

Re: Marked Read Not Marking

Ian,

It's still hit and miss.

I read your response, then went back to the suggestions forum. This thread was still blinking as unread. I went back to the main forum, and I was still getting an unread blinking in the suggestion forum. (BTW I don't use today's topics or new posts. I read off the full, main board.) I went back into the suggestion forum and the blinking had stopped and the thread was marked read.

I'll do a couple other experiments and let you know my findings.

Round two:

I went into a thread with a new post. I refreshed it before I hit the back button to go to the lounge which houses it. In the lounge, the thread was still flashing as unread. I hit the refresh button, and it stopped flashing and was marked read.

BTW thanks for trying to speed up the board. That kind of tinkering is always appreciated .

Re: Marked Read Not Marking

Sorry no different for me.
I just read the message, hit the back button to the suggestion lounge, and the name of the thread is still bolded as if it were unread. Maybe my system needs a reboot.
