Problems with AO

Hi.

Everytime a come here i have lots of problems with :

Replying threads . I press the button "submit" and it starts thinking and at the end just gives an error . ( most of the times )

I can't put pictures on the threads . I use the tag . Insert the img address . When i go and see the thread theres no picture no error , but no picture at all . Then i go and edit the post and the tag code with the address is there but just wont shows . Even on "just images" forum . Is this normal ?

Another thing : i cant upload files . It just starts thinking and then gives an error every time i try...

Am i the only one with this problem ?

PS : I'm trying to post this msg since 21:00 ( 10m ago ) . I press submit new thread and it just hangs thinking & counting the time to upload the msg...

Re: Problems with AO

If you use the image tags ([img]) with an url the image won't show, just a link to the image. Unless you are posting in the Just images lounge.

If you upload a picture to our server (manage attachments), make sure the images are less then 100kb each and don't close the pop-up window before the uploading is completed.

Thanks!

I will try using IE instead of Opera to see if that makes a difference...

Re: Problems with AO

Follow what Selespeed said, Pedro. If you still have any problems please post your systems info (like firewall, browser used at the time, and if you're on a proxi) This, if you don't mind us to know.

Are you using an ISP from the group PT (Telepac, Sapo, Netcabo)?

I'm sure the problems will stop.

Re: Problems with AO

No, no, no! Don't use IE! It is crap.

If you want to try another browser then Opera, use Mozilla for instance. AlfaOwner.com is 100% compatible with Mozilla / Netscape

As a matter of fact i'm pretty happy with NETCABO . They made an hardware upgrade at my neighbor hood and from January that i've been able to mantain constant 65KB/s ( & sometimes more ) bandwith access rates .

My problem was just with AO .

I'm using NORTON FW .

( and now my sig just doesnt apear... ( the check box is checked! )

It all depends what website you're trying to reach and from where you're coming (using different ISP and trying to see anything hosted by the PT group - except Ministery websites - yes, they use the PT crap facilities but they do it in a different route). Besides the PT traffic tends to be directed to crap backbones and that's what sometimes causes delays or even close some connections.

But that's not always, (fortunatly!). And that's good they have done some improvements on your neighborhood.
So it could have been an occasional thing, and that's why I mentioned that.

Don't think you'll have any problem using Norton FW either.

Till last christmas it was horrible!! We couldnd even open the NETCABO page withou a delay . It was quicker by modem!!!

And you were always losing signal to them... Really crappy!!

But almost 90% of the people around here complained , and they had to do something about it .

Thank god!! I was about to quit the service!!!
