Requests?

Hey just a few updates and info and stuff I've been reading every post and seeing questions with no answers, or requests etc. So here goes...
  1. Sig sizes have now been increaed to 500 characters, I think this is a large enough size to display all the details. If not I'll increase it more.
  2. I'm sure the old smilies can be brought back, if I can get the folder they were contained in or links to them I'll add them back
  3. Images have been disabled in posts in favor of either linking to them, or attaching them to the posts.
  4. Old posts; those of the past 3 weeks CANNOT be brought onto this forum, my apologies for this but there's nothing that can be done. I believe you can still access the old forums to read up on them or create new ones here.
  5. Some people have mentioned that the style is too dark, I believe that Ian(alfaowner) has plans to add a few new skins to the lineup which are "lighter" although don't quote me on this... yet
  6. Things are STILL in the development stage so some things may not look right, appear odd etc. Please bear with us over the next week whilst things are finished and put together. We appreciate any suggestions etc.
  7. The current smilies used are generic and can be found on a lot of forums, they were not customly created for this forum.
  8. The "Instant Messaging" you had on the old forum is now replaced by a PM system. There's many features to this and when you explore I'm sure you'll love it.
  9. PM's that you once had in your account you may have noticed no longer exist. My apologies if they contained important information but they were removed because they took over 60MB in file size. All new PMs on this forum won't create half as much space.
  10. All users avatars were also dropped, this also was a massive spurt in size in the database. Feel free to add them again or check out http://www.avarity.com/ for some new cool ones

That's all I can think of for now, but feel free to add more requests or ask questions.

Thanks

Is there no way to recover my PM's then? Even to save on my own hard drive or something?

You could copy and paste them into a Word document.
Maybe...

I've seen some people mentioning the Clover system, I think I know what this refers to . I assume bigger the postcount more clovers?

This will be added back in tonight.

For those people who still think that database size and/or bandwidth is still an issue;

This is no longer the case, with the UBB forum database size and bandwidth grew immensely due to the way things were stored. With the new forum database size is kept at a minimum because everything is compressed. Bandwidth issues will also lessen (yet to see) because rather than CGI (slow) you're now running PHP which is faster and more friendly.

Correctomundo.

I had 69 titanium coloured cloverleafs with diamond studded centres.
If that can be sorted out I would be most grateful.

If a chap called Throttleman starts wanting his cloverleafs back, his were pink with fluffy edges.

On the old forum there were next post and previous post navigation buttons which now seem to be missing. Or am I just blind?

Can I just mention that links to pics work in pm's but not on the forum, where they just appear as a hyperlink, and don't show the image.
Ta.

Azazel I'm sure Hugo has the request of a large chested blonde to be delivered to his house.

While we are at it can I have two and a pizza.

You seem to have done a fantastic job with Ian and I'm sure the above request will be easy to achieve after the massive task of the AO revamp.

If you can provide the money for it, I'll make some calls

Re: Requests?

Since we are not able to do it anymore ourselves, I have a request:

Can you make the font size in the signature small. In this way you can still read the sig if you want but it is claerly not a part of the post.

And since some members have large signatures, it doesn't bother that much anymore when the font is small.
