Seperate Mito & Giulietta Forums

These forums should be seperated as the platforms on which the models are based are different..one (The Mito) is GM based, whilst the Giulietta is a pure bred Italian product with a real Alfa Romeo historical name.

Get it done now!

I second the OP, but not for the same reasons. The Giulietta and Mito are completely different beasts unlike the other "multi-model" subforums.

Actually, might not be such a bad idea. It might halve the cr@p posted in the lounges by the trolls currently plaguing this lounge.

As Fraser said, it might be nice for the Giulietta owners to have a clean slate
away from TMCT.

How polite.

147/156? Different cars, same lounge yet it works.
Seeing as the TECHNICAL sections are for TECHNICAL help, we base the splits in lounges on the technology used in the cars. Seeing as both the MiTo and the Giulietta use the same engine and electronics technology, we'll be leaving them together for the time being.

Any other requests, feel free to bring them to our attention in the announcements and COMMENTS section, which is where this thread has been moved to.

The reason I suggest it was they are separate platforms... the Giulietta platform is going to be the base for the Giulia/ Various FIATS and no doubt other Chrysler type cars... the Mito platform appears to be a kind of cul-de-sac as far as Alfa is concerned... plus those stupid comments from adolescent posters about how the Giulietta looks like an Astra???

I wasnt being rude .. or that was not my intention at least .. so apologise if anyone thought so!

Cheers

That is all....

Back on topic, I'm indifferent about separate/shared forum for Mito & G.
I can see the OP's point about them being quite different, but the Mito lounge is pretty quiet anyway so maybe we should keep the G

Sure the mito and giulietta might use the same technologies, but the fact that they are the 2 newest models available means that they will be talked about (theoretically) much more and attract more new members than any other section. I think that means they deserve their own sections.

The MiTo and Giulietta forums are TECHNICAL areas for TECHNICAL discussion and advice. If you want to talk about them, use General Alfa Discussion.

Thumbs Up

A valid point which seems to be often overlooked in TMCT

Split Mito & Giulietta Forums

I think the GT is actually a 156 chassis with a fancy shell... It does have some 147 interior parts though! So its a mongrel. But at least it was an Italian designed chassis .. unlike the Mito which is a JV with GM.

I'm not knocking the Mito ... I really like it .. I nearly bought one ...

The thing is that the Giulietta is going to spawn lots of derivatives whereas the Mito doesn't look like it will. So in a few months this forum will have to be split anyway.

You know it makes sense.

When Alfa make a Coupe based on the Giulietta I'll be getting one !

EDIT: assuming its RWD ;-)

Cheers

Stuart

I don't know about that, but as a (physics) teacher certain spelling mistakes just jump off the page at me.

My apologies I did not realise that the GT was made from the parts bins of the other models, its not really a valid request though is it ? if it were there would be calls for every model to have a separate lounge and I cant really see that happening, why does it matter to you anyway though as you own neither of the 2 cars in question.

Hopefully the Giulietta Technical Lounge can remain a Troll free zone

Now how about adding Guilietta to the swear filter
